By this I mean let it tell us as we select the weapon type if the weapon is auto or semi auto, show the types of attacks used (especially for melee weapons, since this defines if a weapon is good for crowd control or single target), maybe give us a range of potential base damage numbers (for example 68-99 damage for Base action, 125-250 damage for secondary), special action, info like Torrent or High Capacity and ranges (if there are ranges and they’re not minuscule enough to not matter; if so, just the numbers) of things like rate of fire and reload time.
When it comes right down to it, showing at least the ranges that a weapon can be randomized in a weapon from Brunt’s won’t really affect the final outcome, only give players a more exact idea of what they’re going to be getting in the end. And seeing clearly that this gun is full auto, while this gun isn’t will help make informed, less wasteful choices.
It could even be set up that when you choose a weapon from Brunt’s, you get shown the final result right then and there, and can ‘sort’ through the available ones for a bit more money, similar to how you can continue to reroll a perk with Hadron. If you think of it in a sort of real life fashion, all you’re doing is picking through the available weapons and choosing the one you want. I don’t think a store owner would charge you full price just to look, or hide what you were getting until you had paid full price for the item, then only want to give you back a small amount of that price if you weren’t satisfied… nor would any real person go to someplace that did that to them.
And seeing as these people live or die by the quality of their gear, I sincerely doubt they’d want to put up with people hiding defects on them until they were in the field, or taking their hard earned money then tossing them a crap weapon.
