Story: how to link it all together?

How so? They were scavenged from Martyrs, not Traitors.

Yes, more incentive for pubs who don’t have anti-Daemonhosts builds to wipe half the Squad.

And it will only get worse if we encourage it. Daemonhosts are meant to keep your attention up in-game so that you don’t trigger them and you’re punished for not paying attention.

There is no reward for daemonhosts currently, most squads are not stupid and therefore just walk around them. We get them in like 80% of the games i run, maybe 1 out of every 25 or 30 runs someone pulls it accidentally with a stray bullet or some nonsense. Using that math (obviously biased towards my experience) it shows that daemons are basically pointless to have in the missions, having them as oh be careful for 10 seconds until you pass it and then doesn’t do anything else. Honestly its the same for monstrosities, they are essentially time wasters, only deadly if a horde/specialist rush happens near the same time, if you just stop and deal with monsters they pose basically no threat to a well geared team, but you have to fight them. I still think they should give you 300 Plasteel, 100 diamantine on Malice, scaling up 100 of each per level.

I think thats kinda the idea, all enemies in the match are challenges and obstacles that delay you or force you to adjust.

While I agree it’d be nice to have some reward for exceptional play, I’m not sure assigning it to Daemonhosts is the way to go. They currently act as a “be careful, this could end your run”. If you give reward for cleansing them, they’d need adjusting, as people who want resources will ask to fight them (I don’t need resources, but newer players do).

I feel like the fix for this is having a proximity sensor for triggering the Daemon, like if you don’t have a teammate within 30ft of you when you trigger it, it only kills you and not another teammate. Obviously this may need to be adjusted so that if someone helps you within the first like 10-15 seconds then it still kills 2, but I think that system would prevent aggro-ing it for loot when the rest of your team says no. I feel like at higher difficulties people are smart enough to not try fighting it alone unless they are running a monster killing thunder hammer Zealot built for it. I just hate the idea of the Daemon basically being a wasted asset essentially unless you have a bad teammate.
