Stop calling us rejects. You rejects did not even finish the game

Hey Fatshark! It is absolutely insulting that you call us rejects.

Are you calling us rejects because we were so foolish as to buy your unfinished game? I went to a game dev school, and games done for graduation were more finished than this.

You guys are the rejects for giving us the biggest non apology the other day. You did not even say you were sorry. Then we get a meh update that, while fixing some issues(thanks, should have been done at launch but I will take it), did not even begin to broach the many countless critisms.

Enough is enough. I am done with Darktide until the game changes, but the game may never be able to change given the results of the last few month, let alone, the last few games due to the rejects leading the company.

How does a company of 150 mostly good people, led by leadership rejects, take a game with such an amazing core loop and screw up the execution this bad?!

From now on, I propose that we, the community, refer to whoever is responsible for these leadership decisions as “rejects”.

The community rejected the game at launch, rejected the open letter as corperate bs, and reject the rejects responsible.

Yeah this is terrible marketing. At least call us Redeemers or something relevant to that mechanic. We are proving ourselves after all.

I second this, thank you for the suggestion!

Heh, I don’t care much but it’s always cringe for me when devs call their playbase “Rejects” or “Guardians” (Destiny 2 cringe…) etc. Always sounds to me “You guys are so special in our video game!”. But hey, not big deal, though

Right on! I get (& love) the grimdark 40k universe, but the attitude this game displays towards players/fans is absolutely abrasive and rude! From Hadron’s constant belittling to Zola’s harassment, all the way to blaming-the-victim “didn’t live up to expectations” nonsense in the open letter / community update, it is beyond ridiculous that the entirety of the narrative campaign consists of “you’re a reject, we don’t trust you, work harder or die,” x5 + “we’ve decided not to kill you, but we still don’t trust you” while in reality the game exists in such an obviously unfinished and incomplete state which is a complete breach of trust on the developers/producers part, but nonetheless we keep playing because the core of the game is so, sooo good. Irony is a twisted karker. :woman_shrugging:

That one definitely not tried the Psyker yet, to enjoy being called an abhuman or witch on almost every voice banter.

I think you are being a bit too sensitive about this, it’s just flavor.
I am also disappointed how they released the game, but we still got an enjoyable game here.

And some free unlockable cosmetics that don’t suck.

(And fix the servers, and more classes and builds, and…)

I like how the lv30 cinematic means we’re now inquisitorial acolytes, but literally nothing changes after that and we’re still called disposable garbage.

Oh my god I hate this stuff too. Even worse when content creators do it… Or randoms on reddit and stuff.

We are more like a militia really or a penal battalion. Absolutely disposable lol most likely left on the planet to get roasted when it is inevitably firebombed.

Only before lv30, when you to lv30 you’re formally inducted into the inquisition in that very out-of-place traitor cinematic.

Literally, Rannick calls us acolytes. (plus the inquisitorial rossette)

Well, you may have noticed they didn’t call us rejects in the “apology” post.

I think it’s fun, but they have to earn it. With such an abysmal launch they have forfeited that right.

Am I offended? Not in the slightest.

Acolytes, Agents or Operatives, Henchmen…

Acolytes, Inquisitorial Henchmen, or Agents are the followers an Inquisitor often keeps to aid him in his duties. These can range from combat specialists and psykers to data recorders and scouts. Many of the people an Inquisitor keeps are exceptional in their devotion and skills and are often discovered during the Inquisitor’s activities. Often they are one-off attachments, but if they show particular skills then they may be asked to attach themselves to the Inquisitor permanently. Most Inquisitors keep only a handful of helpers relevant to their current mission, but some keep larger numbers, often spread throughout a large area, which can be called upon at any time.

and i’d like to rank up to a Throne Agent at least

  • Throne Agent - The most trusted members of an Inquisitor’s retinue, Throne Agents have ascended to join the ranks of the Inquisition itself, and have both power and responsibility accordingly.[7b]
  • Trusted Acolyte - Often given positions of responsibility, such as running an Inquisitor’s facilities while they are away or operating in long-term undercover operations.[5b]
  • Proven Acolyte - After a cell has completed several successful missions, they are inducted more fully into the workings of the Inquisition and can operate more interdependently.[5b]
  • Acolyte - Servants and aids of Inquisitors. Though not of the rank of Inquisitors, they are nonetheless considered agents of the Inquisition.[5b]
