It would be nice to have a toggle for steam (or xbox) names to be displayed in UI elements and not just chat. I play with people on discord a lot and we know each other by steam names but when we played the beta it was difficult to tell who was who. And sure, after enough time we will remember each others character names for all the classes but i’d rather that not be necessary.

I guess character names are useful for people really into RP, or in case you’ve got two of the same class (why would anyone do this though ?).
But I would really appreciate just displaying everyone’s steam name instead, mine included, so that I can attempt to remember who I’ve played with and how they usually play.
might do another of a class if you wanted to hear more dialogue branches.
Totally support the toggle though. OR putting both. “JoeGamer”–> SpankyDaOgryn or the like.
well the TAB ui didnt work but if it will on release it most likely would also contain steam names

Probably better to just have both. Like CharacterName (SteamName).
Being able to pick either character name or steam name on display would be good.
I made a similar thread in the closed forum. A big annoyance when playing with random but chatty people.
Another solution would be to color code the text (same color as in the HUD).
