So, how do people feel about the arbites class?

I love the class, and it will be my main.

I just realized this is a Cerebrophage thread lol. I’m enjoying the class regardless of Fatshark’s nonsense.

Arbites and NewOgryn ummm

So much momentum and brute force. More melee focused and up close & personal in missions now with more aggressive players. :+1:

In many regards the new class is hilariously OP and broken, but we have seen this in VT2 already, and hopefully it will get adjusted over time.

What concerns me more is how the base game modes, even at Auric difficulties are simply snooze fests, thanks to sparse enemy spawns and general class power creep. We had few people who were vocal about this, and few sections of few maps were adjusted for better pacing, but post-Havoc it feels like that work was abandoned.

18€ for a couple hundred hours to come is a good return in my book

i“m curious though how fatshark will overall balance this stuff :man_shrugging:

I kind of like that the class offers many great talents to choose from, but players only have a limited number of talent points and can’t take them all. In contrast, the Veteran has only a few good talents that you end up picking almost every time. I also appreciate that most Arbites talents are genuinely impactful, unlike some talents in other classes that barely make a difference. So perhaps the right approach is to bring the other classes up to the level of Arbites and Ogryn, and then continue balancing the overall difficulty from there.

Just when I thought I found a nice melee build for Arbites. I come across something more to try.

The maps feels very samey and renewed enjoyment comes from experimenting nodes. +25% impact node, +30% impact first hit and Hammerblow + Skullcrusher. Really next level you smack away bulwark shields. I tried High Voltage, Opportunist, Thrust but Hammerblow makes huge difference. Things go flying like an Ogryn does it. :+1:

I would be too, but I’m distracted from ā€œhowā€ by ā€œwhenā€ and, most of all, ā€œifā€.

NewGryn and Arbites are fun. I’d like to see the other classes brought up to their level (and no further!). But I’m not certain what I’ll want to do with them, since there are hardware limits on the number of Crushers per square meter.

After playing it for a bit, I want to reiterate my statements on my first impressions. I want to start off by saying that it’s totally worth the $$$. I find the class super fun to play & very thrilling. You’ll get your enjoyment & time out of it, no doubt! So far, I do think it’s one of the strongest classes in the game at least 1 of them & a bit broken speaking to other players about it. The shotguns are incredibly satisfying to use. All the abilities are shockingly great. Castigator’s Stance is stupid stong. All-in-all, I don’t think it will disappoint anybody purchasing this class. Well worth your money, as skeptical as I was at the start. But diving a bit deeper… it gets two thumbs up from me. But obviously, the downside is the cosmetic upgrades which is totally bs the way they implemented that, but that’s an entirely different topic leaving that aside.

I like it.

Still playing with different builds.

Melee build is ogryn strong. Understandable because there’s a lot of his talent tree philosophy of many +10%, +15% talents in his tree.

Love the Ex Shotgun like my firstborn

Shock Mines not as crazy toxic as I thought it was going to be, but also exactly how I thought they would be. Got a team leaving you behind? Toss a mine and move on. Loner lets you have infinite mines so no reason not to.

Arbites grenade is very, very, very strong. Like I can’t believe he gets to have so many.

I think there’s some bugs, the only movespeed talent I feel works is March and Castigate. I don’t feel anything from No Escape, Rapid Movement, or Not Far Behind and I’m not sure why.

Dogsplosion is silly.

I’d like to know how they justify charging money for a new class, when they promised quarterly class additions. Seasonal content. Solo mode. None of these promises kept, and yet, charging real money for additional classes.

And shame on anyone who actually bought this nonsense.

After FS reversed course on the cosmetic stuff I got the DLC for myself and 3 friends who play. Only played a few hours so far but it’s a blast. We didn’t make it to level 15 yet so no real comments on balance/power yet but it feels good.
