exactly. what @Taezzang is doing in that vid looks like serious finger work, that’s not easy to do continuously and consistently. macro monkeys would trivialize it though.

Personally I feel this is like the “movement tech” in many games, zorencopter, dolphin dive, rocketjumping, neostrafing, bouncewalk aso…
It works, but it is not really intended so it comes down to impact. This has high impact so imo it should probably be removed.
You could argue the same for slidespamming or attackspamming, it’s not the same but it is very tedious and makes the game worse if you feel required to do so.
As long as the game isn’t balanced around it it is also less of an issue of course.

was intended from the start, people only figured it out midway cause it was the stone age of keyboard only and few mouse users.
along came thresh etc and showed how it’s done.
but physical propelling and direction was all in the engine as a base.
the closer analogy would be firing 2 rockets at a shorter pace due to animation skipping

yeah this psyker stuff sounds serious and all but big man hasn’t been nerfed again in over 6 months. they’re starting to get comfortable again.
but real talk to OP I absolutely hate this and will leave any lobby I encounter it in, its really lame and makes the already game breaking purgustus a total joke.

Maybe, don’t know enough about rocketjumping to say if it was intended or not. What I meant was the animation cancel and being able to spam attack not being intended (or at least I don’t think so).
Anyway, the key part for me is if something makes the game janky to play and is sort of compelling - it needs to be looked at.
I mean they’re literally built into a lot of basic mouse software. Like they gonna block Logitech g hub? What if they also accidentally block your DPI settings? Sounds like an insane can or worms to me.
Maybe I’m just being ignorant but can you suggest a reasonable mechanism for them to actually do this?

macro users are by default a lazy bunch.
so 3 complete matches without one input-slip and flawless execution of said exploit = ip ban, sayonara macro w4nker.

This macro also works with normal attacks (left-click) with all psyker staffs. As far as I remember, this use case was discovered immediately after the update, which made it impossible to use the macro using threat suppression. This is very inconvenient in intense battles, and I personally have not seen it used.

Getting rid of macros is impossible.
Even in BF4, there were plenty of players using macros to achieve the same rpm as full auto with zero recoil.
pve games like dark tide, I think the percentage of players who use macros without hesitation is higher compared to pvp.
If fat shark thinks this primary cancel isn’t necessary, they’ll just fix it.

The opposite. More competitive environment. If an advantage built into every gaming peripheral won’t get you banned it will be used.

Yeah take BF6, they already banned the BF6 Cronus Zen controller after warnings. Similarly, you’ll often see macro being used to automate slide+jump+cancels and stance-dance spams, which are just being used to try to confuse the hitreg in their favor.
Macroing and exploiting crap like this in multiplayer games is lame.

Yeah I don’t think they can “ban” macros, to add to your point, best you can do is limit the input rates to intended design maximums? but even original video seemed like he was mashing buttons to get the effect… no macros required.
…I think if Israel can do it with pagers it just might be… we may be sitting next to a death trap @.@ …but its so fun!

They could try, and whatever light-hacking is required to get around the ban might be a skill expression.
No macro’s are mapped into your hardware you set a click to do certain actions and its automated… a system would not know how to “ban” other than try to detect the ungodly precision and speed of the actions… which some muscle memories can mimic quite well… and you might ban a top tier player not using macros @.@
