Seen some cheating ogryns of late

Issue Type (Required):

Weapons

Issue Description (Required):

Seen some cheating ogryns of late. They somehow use an infinite ammo bug(I’ve seen this with rumblers) and I’ve seen some Ogryns shooting their kickback many times quickly without reload. No clue if they are glitching or using client-side hacks.

I think the patch notes is aware of this ammo glitch. Maybe because they explained how the exploit works it tipped off more players.

Its not client side hacks, its a reload cancel/mechanic exploit.

I can confirm this. Just had a game with ogyrn exploiting this issue. His ammo is red but he never pick any. He has infinite ammo. Seems like he is using Lorenz Mk VI Rumbler type of weapon.

Hope it will be fixed soon.

I think new gameplay due to bugs is a good thing, even if it affects the peace of the game
Because Fat Shark really hasn’t updated the game for too long, no substantial changes have been made in 3 months
The feedback error message is also not in sight to fix

And dedicated bug reporters like you and your team are largely ignored. How many of the major talent bugs youve reported remained bugged?

The bug is rather simple:

If you have no ammo, Lucky Bullet can still trigger nonetheless. So you just spam the mouse button and hope the 8% chance triggers an attack.
By using macros or binding mousewheel to attack you can spam it so fast, you have a high probability of getting free shots, faster than if you were to normally play and reload.

Not a cheat. Not a glitch. Just a bug. And it’s insanely fun (but must obviously get fixed).

Thats great but a lot of the bugs that are acknowledged remain unfixed for months. In fact all of his bug reports are acknowledged and the major ones are still present

If there is a macro involved then it could be classified as cheating, depends on specific game.

No. A macro is not cheating. It’s simulating consistent mouse clicks / button presses or binding other ordinary input actions to new keys.

Furthermore, you can also simply bind fire to mouse wheel and get the same effect.

That’s called glitching and its cheating. You are constantly on this forum trolling like its your fulltime job man. Who’s paying you to harass fatshark and troll these forums?

Cheating is the use of an external program to directly modify values in the game to gain an unfair advantage. If you’re simply using an unintended mechanic, that’s an exploit, which I don’t consider cheating.

???
This is a forum. Forums have a feature that allows you to write. Using said feature is an intended design.

Yes it’s simulating those mouse clicks in a way which is unachievable for humans - both the speed and the consistency. Now I’m not saying it is cheating - what I’m saying is that there is a valid reason for it to be considered cheating and it’s up to the developer to decide, not the players.

Uh…really?
Using a macro (or mod) to exploit a bug is not considered cheating now, oh how tiems have changed.

If I bound shoot to the mousewheel and then I used a freescroll mousewheel to spam it, is that cheating too?

Its always interesting to see the cheating/exploit debate no matter the community :face_exhaling:.

Whatever the case, this should have been hotfixed already.

With broken Lucky Bullet? Do you have to ask?

Because exploiting isn’t cheating. It’s exploiting.
That’s similiar to the piracy vs theft discussion. They’re not the same at all.

I really don’t care to go too deeply into this, but many cheats are created from exploiting something.
Piracy depending on the context can also very easily be considered theft.

I’ve personally always categorized this into intent. If you purposefully intent to use an exploit to cheat then its cheating. If you plan on selling pirated material that is not yours then its as good as theft.

But there are seemingly opinions on this topic as many as there are people talking about it.
