Not building scourge stacks despite hitting bleeding targets with many zealot weapons. Notably the ironhelm and the eviscerator or devil claw. I didn’t test all weapons, but I was able to get it working with the knife, crucis, and combat axe.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
Charge with ironhelm, attack, inflict a crit and continue attacking. No scourge stacks build in the UI.
You should only have to hit the bleeding target. At least that is what the tool tip says. That is also how it works for the weapons I described in my post.
That’s just not even slightly true so not sure where you got that from.
OP it’s probably a long standing issue with this talent from pre patch 13. If the hit kills the enemy in many cases the game doesn’t count it as a “hit”. So say you hit the enemy with a crit so they start bleeding, then you hit them again while they’re bleeding but that attack finishes them off, well no stacks for you. I’m confident this was an issue in the past not sure if it’s worked differently at any point.
Does this explain when it does and doesn’t stack in your testing?
In my testing I was just smacking a crusher after charging for a guaranteed crit. I wasn’t building up the stacks in that case, so i wasn’t running into the issue of it dying in one hit.
I don’t know what to tell you because I’ve run it with Evic with no issues not long ago. In all my previous Psyk testing it’s worked consistently. Could you post a video to show this happening for you as well as screenshots of gear and tree?
Heres the screenshot, you can see I crit from the buff, attacked 5 times. Original attack was a crit, because you can see my toughness DR buff. No stacks of scourge.
Heres my knife, doing the same thing. 3 stacks of scourge.
You could try and only path until you have the scourge talent and the connecting talent points picked to see if its still doing this. If it suddenly starts working correctly then there might be some talent tree fishery going on.
Other than that idk, seems weird to me.
Good question (and apologies for the double notification, I accidentally edited my original post instead of making a new one)
I thought I was misremembering from pre-patch 13, but nope…
I’ve just deleted the post to keep the false info out of the general view; if anyone wants to read it, they can see it quoted, and correct info alongside
@alsozara I ended up making new ironhelms and tried to isolate just what was causing it to work on some builds and not others and couldnt. Take a look at what I’m dealing with.
Looking at the crit rate you’re getting with the weapons, it almost looks like the buff is active even though it’s not visible, which is even stranger - I know it’s only a small sample of data, but when I tried to reproduce (without FotF, I tried both), it’d take 15 - 20 hits in some cases before I got a single crit. Obviously, when the buff got going, I was seeing crit rates closer to what’s in the video
@alsozara I remembered why I had the wrong description of Scourge! Without the extra crit/bleed, maintaining at least 1 stack of bleed with the +30% crit alone was very RNG-dependant, where a bad streak of 4 - 5 non-crits (depending on your weapon) would allow the buff to expire - having crit/bleed from elsewhere mitigated that risk.
I’m glad I remembered why I was misremembering it, that was bugging me all day
