Ripper Gun Audio Issue

Audio

Issue Description (Required):

Just today I’ve noticed that the Ogryn’s Ripper guns have an audio issue when equipping/reloading, where the sound only comes out of the left headphone. It was fine a few days ago, I’ve tried fiddling with the audio settings, and verifying my game but come up empty. I’ve tried other weapons and it’s ONLY his ripper guns, all other weapons seem normal

For me the flamer reload comes out the right ear and the ripper is also bugged for me.

Ditto on the sound issues for both the ripper gun and the flame thrower.

Happens also with the revolver reload. Plays only on the right side.

Hi all,

We are currently investigating audio issues after the recent hotfix. Please can you let me know which specific headphone model are you using?

It would also be helpful if you can please provide a console log from a session that this occurs, and your user_settings.config ideally:

Thanks in advance!

I use a pair of Steel Series Arctis Pro Headphones, and I believe these are what you’re after:

console-2024-10-28-19.13.51-e46b0abc-25ce-438f-98bd-d5490364b4a8.log (133.4 KB)
user_settings.config (5.2 KB)

Note that when you say “from a session that this occurs” the audio bug happens in every session, even in the Psykhanium

If when looking over these you come across anything that correlates to the failed-to-compress crash I am experiencing I would be grateful. As I said in the post specifically about the issue, setting the Worker Threads to a lower number seems to at least alleviate the crashes, however they have since occurred at lower numbers (crashes have occurred at 21, 8 and 4 worker threads)

It’s a long shot but I would be indebted to have some closure on the issue.

Thanks for the info and logs! I’ve shared these with the developer investigating the current audio issues

Unfortunately the “failed to decompress” crashes are tricky to pinpoint the exact cause of from data in the logs alone. This specific crash will occur typically due to a data corruption issue, or faulting hardware in rarer cases. I can only really point you toward our data corruption solutions which may be of help, here:

Thanks for the acknowledgement, and thanks for explaining again.
