Reworking powerweapons

I think i am not the only one who thinks that the powerweapons (Crusher not included) are boring so i wanted to throw my idea for a rework out there.

My idea is to tie the special activation to a resorce, lets call it energy, it works like a staminabar so when you use a special atack it drains energy and you have to stop using specialatacks for about 3 seconds for it to start recharging. In adition i would make it so that holding down the activasion button will alow:

-the powersword to atack multiple times like with Powercycler alowing you to atack abaut 4 times until you run out of energy
-the thunderhammer and the crusher to put all your energy into one supercharged atack that deals alot mor damage and Stager aswell as having more cleve

I also want to make some weapon specific changes for the thunderhammers:

-Remove the hitstun, buff their finnes to be onpaar with the crusher, nerf their unyielding damage and make the specialatacks of the crucis cleve like the ironhelm does curently.
-Also give the Ironhelm a strikedown pushatack, make H3 chain into L2 so you can endlessly combo strikedown atacks and make it so that the activated H1 and H2 no longer have a single target explosion and work like the powersword atacks, that way you can use them purely for crowd clearing without geting stuck on elites while you can still use your activated H3 for single target damage.

What is it with these weird takes about changing powerweapons? Why do you want to make them even worse than they already are?

So you can use the only gimmick the power weapons are good for even less? No. I veto this.

They specifically nerfed those two aspects to make consistent use more balanced. But reintroducing it to then put power weapon specials on a long cooldown timer is honestly not worth it.

I personally feel they are balanced by the charge time. When things get busy, you take the calculated risk of either charging or swinging in vanilla mode. If anything, while I like the illisi I find the others a bit meh. *

*except the crusher, which is great fun.

Interestingly if you watch the early trailers you can see thunderhammers were at the time always powered up. Looked way cooler. Sparks coming off every hit, etc. Same for the chainswords actually.

You can see it a couple times here. I’d imagine it would’ve maybe worked a lot like what you suggest. Offtopic but some other neat stuff too, like at some point a lasgun with a scope is shown, at soon afterwards, what seems to be the same lasgun with just ironsights is shown. Basically it seems at the time you could actually customize weapon attachments in their dev build, or atleast the trailer suggests that.
