Repeated Crash when trying to start Dark Omens

I was trying to level my Salty and finally unlock his billhook, but I can’t seem to access the Dark Omens Mission. It starts to load, but in the middle of Lohner’s exposition speech, my game client crashes. I haven’t seen anyone else posting this issue, but it’s only affecting my client, and only for that mission. My brother got in fine, on his own, and I haven’t had any other trouble all afternoon. Help! I want to play with the billhook!

It looks like your installation is incomplete/corrupted, please ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’:

  1. Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam
