Just checking even though at the time of posting this we’re 226,702/400,000 for the monstrosities challenge but I had to ask. Do Assassination bosses count towards this goal considering they typically count towards monstrosities as far as Sire Melk is concerned? I was assuming the bosses count until I saw this:
I would assume that they intentionally excluded assassination targets from this event, so that players do not feel obligated to play any specific mission type when ever it shows up.
That makes sense. I will admit I personally enjoyed how motivated I was to do assassinations to complete the challenge effectively. Gave me a sense of being “in the know” if you know what I mean.
Anyway, thanks for pointing that out. I’m ashamed to say it but I didn’t consider that perspective yet.
Ah, because 2 of the three available are low-intensity, I see what you did there – If the Assassination is a low-intensity, we don’t have to play it because we have the other regular-leveled mission right there for us. For 20 minutes. That won’t change from anything that we do since we have no agency to choose what we play in a real sense.
Even their ‘community events’ are drowning in ridiculous design decisions. So frustrating.
To be honest, I had “Low intensity” runs where we had nurgle and 2 demon hosts, followed by normal run with no DHs nor boss monstrosities, followed by Hi intensity with 2 boss monstrosities but no DHs.
Higher Intensity does not somehow translate to more monstrosities on the map. Which is very weird. Not sure how director based on the difficulty and special condition decides how many monstrosities it will spawn on the map.
EDIT: However, having Light out condition and 3-5 DHs per map, would definitely help move the kill number on the event faster
I wasn’t commenting on how many monsters were there per intensity (I know that’s random too), more of the fact that the maps themselves are RNG with 2 of the 3 normally being low-intensity, which aren’t what most players are looking for; This game gives players the least amount of agency to play the way they want.
My b. Now I understand.
Considering assassination targets count towards Sour Milk’s monstrosity bounties I would assume that they do count. I don’t see why they’d bother to change it just for a timed event.
