First, there is clearly a Cyber-Mastiff pursuing a Nurgle Cultist. Considering the recent addition of Mechanical Hounds in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, the likelihood of a new playable class (e.g., Explicator or Vigilant) being introduced is quite high—roughly 60%.
Alternatively, this could hint at a Tyranid Genestealer Cult infestation. After all, it is entirely plausible for the deepest underhives of Tertium to harbor Twisted hordes of Genestealer hybrids and Tyranid bioforms. Given the eternal enmity between the Great Devourer (Tyranids) and the Ruinous Powers (Chaos Gods), a Tyranid incursion countering Nurgle’s rot would align with the lore.
By the Throne, what are your thoughts, rejects? Should we prepare for sanctified cyber-hounds or brace for xenos chitin in the sludge? The Omnissiah’s gaze remains ever-watchful.
In fact, as always with Fatshark, you cannot have any idea of what you can expect…
Really, I have played a lot of games in 30 years… but never seen a company that cannot communicate.
Even when they announce something, you don’t know what to expect until the moment they release it…
So, guessing what, why and how they would implement something we have no idea of what it could be… I pass.
“By the Throne! If Fatshark dares to unleash a new playable class—like a Cyber-Mastiff Handler—or a xenos/heretic threat like Tyranid vanguard bioforms, I’ll gladly shove Throne Gelt into their coffers! Hell, I’ll even nominate them for Steam’s ‘Labor of Love Award’… though it’d better come with a blessed heretic-tax rebate!”
(Servo-skull whirring) Bonus heresy: Every DLC purchased grants a sanctified skin for your lasgun that auto-targets Fatshark’s profit margins. Praise the Omnissiah… and pray they don’t reskin Nurgle Poxwalkers as “Premium Golden Rotbundles.”
Damn it, the AI is always frantically polishing my sentences
That’s my main problem… every time we have a communication, I don’t know what will come…
Never experienced that in other games… At least you had an idea of what was coming.
I don’t know if others are fine with such a way to communicate, I am not. And you can check all my past messages, I have always refused to involve myself in guessing what they suggested.
Every time, the expectations are far greater than what we got… and that’s sad.
So I expect one minor thing with a major announcement… Anyway, I expect nothing that will aim at the public I am part of.
I bet you’ll be disappointed, and that no post here will guess what will come.
I also bet it will be something good, but not a big amount of content.
I guess one or two missions, veteran weapons, and a class rework — I bet on Zealot. And that’s all. So… no real new content.
A dog does sound pretty hard to get the game play right tbh.
If that is what we are getting, maybe it could have a focus on pinning enemies down like the pox hound does as its bread and butter game play, controlled via the player using the ping system. And then for it’s real useful damage it is tied to the players ultimate with cooldown. Leaves you playing like normal for the most part, probably with some extra minor dog abilities.
If the new class is a cyber dog you play directly that has a gun emplacement on its back I’ll be too busy playing to complain on the forums for the foreseeable future.
If it is a class with a familiar, I’m also not quite sold on how it’ll fit into the game, but I’m curious to see what it might do.
Might do it like Remnant 2. It could do a bit of damage, pull aggro, generate suppression, maybe offer AoE buffs, one free self-rez. Who knows! I imagine whatever impressive stuff it could do would be tied to limited blitz/ult.
