Re-spawn zone is so far away

Issue Description:
I’ve had a few games this week where the re-spawn location is halfway across the map. It can take the rest of the team almost ten minutes to reach me. What’s strange is that if somebody drops after me, they’ll re-spawn in a closer location to the team.

Steps to Reproduce:

Mission Name (If Applicable):
Ascension Riser 31

Platform:
[Steam/Microsoft Store]
Steam
Player ID:

Approx. Time of Issue & Timezone:
10:40am AEST

Reproduction Rate:
Once - Rare (<10%) - Unusual (<25%) - Common (<50%) - Often (<75%) - Constant (100%)
Unusual, I’ve had a handful of games over the last two days where it would happen.

Had this as well before. Drop first yet respawn the furthest away.

Seen many cases of this since the game launched. One guy spawns at the “next” location, another guy way off in the distance.

This could just be coincidence but my impression is that this problem crops up in Auric missions a lot. I’m not sure if that’s because the missions are different somehow or because people tend to die more often.

My understanding is that the farthest living player determines where the recently died one will spawn.

So if you want to get a reasonable respawn point, all the living team members must go back as far as possible before the 20 seconds elapse.

Ah, that’s kind of the opposite of how it should work because it punishes parties capable of moving through maps quickly (which is what you should be doing in all cases since more time = more hordes).

You can outrun a horde.
