QoL changes: Helbore Lasgun

I’ve been enjoying the Helbore on my vet recently, but there have been a few points of frustration I’d like to bring up for discussion to make the weapon handling a bit less awkward.

  1. Applying powers should not:
    a) reset your charge/any charge held.
    b) remove any currently registered mouse inputs.

Currently, if you start charging a Helbore, and see the need to use your power, not only will it stop you from charging, remove your current charge, and won’t start charging until you repress the button. This is extremely unintuitive results in a lot of wasted power use.

  1. The Helbore should automatically charge during ADS, allowing us to discharge at any point with left click. Similar to the TF2 sniper or Widow from OW.

This is a bit more of a taste thing, but I have a few reasons I’d like to see this

a) Differentiate between the plasma gun. Unlike the plasma gun where you have to manage peril and ammo. Currently it plays similarly to the plasma gun despite it supposedly being a more nimble weapon. This should give it it’s own gameplay niche and feel.
b) Saves fingers and mouse clicks.
c) Helps out toggle aim users like me, get the intended benefit out of toggle aim, which is precise movement movement without the pressure (both physical and muscle) of holding the button down.

Frankly, I can’t even imagine how hold ADS works on the weapon. Holding both buttons down and still moving your mouse with precision seems quite a task for a headshot centric weapon.

Oh is that why this stupid garbage happens? Every time I try to dust off a helbore I end up in this state like 2-3 times a game and it annoys the living hell out of me.

It took me quite a bit to figure it out. I’m pretty sure this is the case for all weapons, if you do it in the middle of full autoing a autogun, there’s a 20 second gap before it registers the shoot command again; but it’s double painful for the Helbore, since you lose charge and it doesn’t start charging immediately either.
