Game has been crashing regularly, but tonight was especially bad. Followed all of the crash repair steps with no change. Basically, crashes after 10-30 minutes of play.
Your logs show you’re running into a Deadlock type crash, with an Exit Code 0xFA718003.
This Exit Code is usually associated with Anti-Virus/Firewall causing a crash on launch. I appreciate that you’re not crashing immediately when launching the game, but I suspect this may still be the cause.
Which Anti-Virus software do you use?
Please ensure that appropriate Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions are in place for both Vermintide 2 and Easy Anti-Cheat.
You’ll need to add exceptions for:
vermintide2.exe in Program Files \(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries
EasyAntiCheat.exe in \Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat
It could also be worth trying a ‘Selective Startup’, which can help identify whether a background application is the cause:
Press the Windows key
Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
Reboot your PC
If the issue no longer occurs after having performed the Selective Startup, try re-introducing your programs one-by-one to determine which is the culprit.
Sorry for spamming, but I also wanted to add that I went through the msconfig procedure and limited the startup items with no impact. Its odd since the game has been relatively stable (crash every 2 or 3 hours or so) for the past month.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
Hm okay the new crash report shows the same occurrence, with a Deadlock type crash and the Exit Code as before.
Have you made any recent changes to your PC? any Windows updates? or Driver updates?
It’s a shot in the dark, but it could be worth performing a clean re-installation which can sometimes help with more complex issues. This involves uninstalling Vermintide 2 as normal, and then proceeding to remove your AppData directory by:
Press the Windows key + R
Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
Delete the entire ‘Vermintide 2’ directory
Please be aware that by removing your AppData, you will lose any custom configurations such as keybindings. Your progress won’t be impacted, as it’s stored on our servers.
Afterwards, you can then reinstall Vermintide 2 as normal.
Thanks. I’ll try a total uninstal and a clean install afterwards. As for whats different, I can’t think of anything recently. The overall problem started about a month and a half ago when I switched routers and switched to wifi vs cable connection (however, these issues have been managable with a crash every 3 hours or so until the other day).
