It’s extra scummy and unprofessional to silently backtrack on it. Like are they hoping that the silence is keeping people who might leave/refund if they announce that the feature has been cancelled?

You said it yourself. Two years. I don’t know what sense of time you have, but no mention of an advertised feature in development, even in low priority, for two years would count as silence.

would be funny to ask for a refund… but honestly… who here has bought only the game?
I cannot compare the money I have put in the game to buy it with the money I invested in pure illusion asset called cosmetics

But, what I ask to Fatshark is only to fulfill their promise to their customers.
This was not a “we will think about adding a solo game mode”.
No, it as clearly that:
There is no way this can be interpreted any other way — they will deliver it.
And, as you can read above, they even gave a date: December 2022, at the latest.
We are in December 2025… I am now asking them to deliver this.
I am not asking them to rework the entire game… There is already a mod that allows us to use our own bots in solo mode.
If that guy managed to do it, I guess Fatshark can too…
They give us this, and I’ll be happy:
- The ability to play alone (so, a private game)
- The ability to use my characters as bots
This is not hard to do…

That they haven’t forgotten about it on the third anniversary of the game after no communication about it for two years and three CMs ago. Especially since its status went from “final stages of testing” to “lower priority” and then complete silence for two years.

It’s still a failure of community management to ignore regular questions on whether an advertised feature is still in development for years. Extra character slots were addressed immediately, and before you say it was because of a new paid product, solo play was also an advertised feature of a paid product.

There’s a massive difference between “it’s not a priority at this time,” and “we’ve scrapped it entirely.”
It made sense to lower it’s priority after how rough the launch was. But we’re now in a (relatively) good place and the time spent developing Havoc (which no one asked for and most people seem to hate, or at least they hate how it works?) and Mortis Trials (which no one asked for, and most people are indifferent to?) could have been spent finishing Solo Mode. They knew the game was going to be “primarily coop” when they started development and still said “yes. You will be able to play solo.” so that’s not an excuse.
At this point we deserve an official explanation on if it’s scrapped or not, and if not, where it is on the list of priorities. It’s really not a hard question to anwer. Here, I’ll give them two examples:
Scenario 1:
Players: “What’s the deal with solo mode, is it scrapped?”
CMs: “Yes.”
Scenario 2:
Players: “What’s the deal with solo mode, is it scrapped?”
CM’s: “No, but we’re prioritizing X and Y, then we’ll work on Solo Mode.”

I personally don’t think solo mode is that important, nor would i want to play it, but would Space Marine 2 solo mode be acceptable?
Because i don’t think most of who’s asking for this want to play solo missions and not get any rewards.
Absolutely not. That’s already an option for PC players through mods, and it sucks to finish a mission and get nothing out of it.

I mean, you can also technically play solo and get rewards through ManyMoreTry mod.
So it kinda feels like people’s problem is not with the complete absence of a way to play solo, but more with Fatshark’s broken promises.
I would seriously love a solo offline mode. The average player is useless at worst and an active hazard at best. Too many people need to go back to uprising and stay there since the have no idea how to play and no desire to learn.

I did use the ManyMoreTry mod, but needing to use a 3rd party website to pick missions instead of the mission board felt awful, and again, PC only. Console players will never be able to use these mods, and guess what? It’s on console! Fatshark just doesn’t care about free money if that money comes from us lepers solo players
