Could we please add a push-to-mute option to voicechat in game? I would looooove that.
Should be moddable. I had a hotkey mute party feature in a private mod I wrote that may or may not exist.
To mute your own mic or to mute everyone else?
This will probably get added to the Zip It mod in the next week or so.
To mute my own mic., only while I hold down my hotkey.
Completely untested, who knows if it will work. New feature added to ZipIt2:
* Hotkey to mute voice chat - toggle team voice chat and own microphone on/off, resets at next loading screen
Another way could be to use a key mapper like AutoHotkey (Windows) or keyd (Linux) to reverse your Push to Talk key’s function, so that it gets held by default and released when you hold it. Since I never needed this functions, I don’t know which of them may or may not be able to do that, and how. Just a thought for further research.
