Psyker's Smite Charged Strike KIlls Don't Grant Toughness on DoT Kill

Tbf looking at some of this…its probably better this works the way it does atm. The same applies to melee bleed kills. In normal difficulties you would be getting insane lvl of toughness regen. Please close this

This is melee only talent. Enemies who die from the Electrocute damage over time effect do not trigger:

  • toughness on melee kill effect (base for all classes)
  • nor they trigger the toughness on warp kill effect from Soulstealer talent
  • Charged Strike Electrocuted damage over time / warp kill effect doesnt seem to trigger Malefic Momentum stacks either.

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Unequip all talents to ensure clear testing environments.

Testing scenarios, kill one enemy with:

  • with no talents at all: observe toughness on melee kill being gained
    • with Charge Strike talent selected and enemy dying from melee damage: observe toughness on melee kill being granted
  • with Charge Strike damage over time effect kill: no toughness on melee kill being gained
  • Yet at the same time with Charge Strike and Soulstealer talents selected if the enemy dies from the Electrocuted damage over time effect, the Soulstealer’s toughness on warp kill effect is also NOT triggered.

The electrocution dot damage isn’t attributed to the player, so it isn’t affected by any damage buffs and does not proc any talents or blessings.

Based on the extended talent description mod it is attributed to player with Smite. I haven’t tested that myself. Nevermind, I think its the Smite damage itself which triggers Soulstealer.

This remains counterintuitive. By taking Charged Strikes which is supposed to be melee centric talent, you are missing out on toughness regen, whatever that would count as melee kill or warp kill.
