Psyker Talent Tree Ideas

It would be great to see more Psyker melee focus in the Talent Tree, so here’s a few Talent changes and additions that could help do this, along with some suggestions to fix a few underperforming Talents.

Smite: Unleash a torrent of Bio-Lightning - a fast, channelled attack that Locks to and Stuns an Enemy while dealing Damage. Charge to unleash a focused blast - consuming one charge, that deals high damage to the first enemy hit and knocks nearby enemies to the ground, applying Electrocution to all enemies affected. One charge replenishes every 60 seconds, max 3 charges held.

Charged Strike: Your Heavy Melee Attacks electrocute enemies hit, damaging them.

Enfeeble: Enemies Electrocuted by you take +10% increased Base Damage from all sources for 5s. Stacks 3 times.

Crystalline Will: You no longer Overload through Perils of the Warp, but you still take the appropriate Corruption Damage.

Heinous Frenzy: For every wound that is Corrupted, you gain +5% melee attack speed, to a maximum of three wounds. Additionally, health damage is no longer taken until Toughness is lower than 25%. (Below Crystalline Will)

Strength in Solitude: +2 Wounds. (Below Warp Rider)

Brain Rupture: Now has 6 charges, Per charge on cooldown Brain Bursts Channels 10% faster and generates 10% less peril. Using Brain Rupture consumes one charge, one charge replenishes every 10 seconds. (At 6 stacks, 1.2 sec BR, at 0 stacks 3s BR). Additionally, allies can no longer see Brain Rupture until it completes.

Kinetic Rejuvenation: Melee kills replenish one Brain Rupture charge.

Kinetic Flayer: Attacks against tagable enemies will Brain Rupture the target and consume a charge at no peril, 10s CD.

Psykinetic’s Aura: 100% Ability Cooldown regeneration for 3s when you use a blitz charge.

Perilous Assault: Up to 50% Swap Speed and Staff Charge Speed as your peril increases.

Kinetic Pressence: +10% Damage against Elites and Specialist for you and allies in coherency.

Prescience: You and Allies in Coherency gain +10% Critical Hit Chance.

Unlucky For Some: When an Ally in Coherency takes damage, all other Allies in Coherency recieve +10% Toughness Damage Reduction for 10s. Cooldown 30s.

Warp Rupture: Venting Shriek increases warp attack power by up to 25% for 5s based on your current Peril. (Tweaked)

Unlucky for one more like it :wink: sounds a lot like a better shield of contempt I tend to just throw this one away but that would work.

Martyrdom Psyker sounds interesting but unsure of how similar it would be to zealot… and a lot more risky =) I’d still like to see crystalline will instant explode too overloading becomes more tactical with the corruption.

Not as strong as Martyrdom, it would lack the damage buff and TDR. Also Martyrdom maxes out at +28% melee attack speed, whereas Heinous Frenzy would max out at 15% melee attack speed.

With Strength in Solitude and a Wound Curio, a Psyker could retain 40% Health for the 15% attack speed buff. Otherwise it would be 25% Health left for the 15% attack speed buff. Not taking health damage at all while Toughness is above 25% would help alleviate some of the risk.

Risky play but high reward. A potential 25% melee attack speed increase (when combined with Lightning Speed) on a Psyker crit build would dramatically increase damage output.

That’s true, it does give the Talent more stand-alone utility. Nullifying Perils of the Warp is already pretty strong though… either way is fine by me. I really wish they would lean into a high risk “corrupted” melee Psyker approach more.

#1: turn smite into a brief pulse or whatever ability that can’t be spammed.

Agreed 100%, limiting secondary attack to three charges max with one charge replenished every 60 sec should do that, yes? Also giving Psykers the ability to actually contribute damage using their weapons during the brief stagger secondary provides would be nice.

Could turn smite into the current Surge Staff, then turn Surge into one of the numerous Sienna staves still not represented in this game.

I would like other option for Shriek, as in making it AOE for starters.

Not sure a power buff (anymore) can compete the raw aoe damage of soul blaze perhaps a utility defensive alternative to the damage choice.

Voices all Around: Venting Shriek vents all peril and instead knocks back enemies in a larger radius around Psyker.

This would Synergize doubling toughness regen from Quietude and provide a 360 defensive tool…or we could also rip off another VT2 Dash

Through the Warp: When using Venting Shriek Psyker passes through the warp a short distance knocking down enemies on departure and arrival.

Please don’t touch my zap stick! But since we’re on the topic of staves, each of them should get a few new marks with different primary fires to mix n’ match with the secondary. Primary fires like the bolt staff dbz ki blast spam, warp shotgun blasts, maybe make the flame staff poof possible on other staves. These are all things that I think would bring some fun to psyker.

I also always wanted some staff marks with weapon special acting like an Gandolph lantern or a “you shall not pass” ground stagger =p

Very true. The special for staves being a bonk is a tad bit underwhelming.
