Psyker perk

this perk, it’s supposed to make it so your peril is increased, rather than stamina.
but i don’t know if it’s working for the new force sword which has the mastery ability to ‘‘block ranged attacks as well as melee’’. when i selected this perk, the ranged attacks seem to be going through right to my toughness, even at peril 0%.

Crystalline just permits you to not go on floor if you burn your brain

So it works when you go above 100% peril, so with everything

it is considered as a bad talent

Well if we disregard your incorrect interpretation of that talent, are you making sure to aim at the thing shooting at you when blocking?

It isn’t a 360 forcefield like melee blocking, you have to aim at the gunners.

Edit- unless there is maybe a new bug that interacts with that talent. Wouldn’t be the first time…

TLDR
The talent works and the blessing works.

  1. you picked the wrong talent
  2. you need to apply the deflector blessing to your melee weapon (hadron → rebless)
  3. you need to block while looking in the general direction of the enemy in order to block projectiles

It is a talent, not a perk.
And no it does not do or say that it does, what you say it does.

Based on your description, you mixed something up and were looking for “Kinetic Deflection”, which is located to the right of the one that you showed in your screenshot.

I just tested this weapon with the T4 version of the deflector blessing against several ranged units, while using the “use peril for blocking” talent. It works exactly as it should.

As was mentioned already, the block angle against ranged attacks is quite limited, when compared to the block angle against melee attacks.
You basically have to be looking at the enemy that is shooting you, but when you do, it works just fine.

So if you block (with the deflector blessing equipped on your weapon) while looking at the enemy that is shooting you, you should be able to block the boolets.
And if you pick the correct talent, blocking bullets should build up peril, before consuming your stamina.

In case you want to better understand the talent that you accidentally picked, see my explanation below.

It says that when you overload (>100%) your peril meter, you no longer get downed.
Without the talent, when you overload, you will raise your hands and go through a few seconds of an animation, before you explode and get downed.
With the talent, when you overload, you will raise your hands and go through a few seconds of an animation, before you explode but you no longer get downed.

But with or without that talent, you will get 1 wound worth of corruption.
That means that one of the sections of your health bar will turn purple.

Purple sections of your health bar are “deactivated” until you clear them with medical stims or a medicae station.
Since my hp bar only has 2 sections, having one of the two deactivated means, that my max hp is reduced by half, until i clear the purple wound.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tested the block angle of the new sword? It almost feels like a wider angle than the 1 handers when I used it, but that could just be my imagination.

You equipped a wrong talent, read the tooltips. You need Kinetic Deflection, not Crystalline Will. The one you want is to the right. Also you need the Deflector blessing on your force sword to block ranged attacks. The last time I tried it this will NOT block ranged attacks when reviving someone. As such Deflector is not really worth the blessing slot. There are better ways to avoid range damaged, and stay mobile.

Yeah, but those don’t make me feel like a Jedi or Neo…or a psyker
