It might just be a cascading case of rounding errors.
I’ve also noticed 80/80/80/80/62 or 58 on some of my weapons.
Keep in mind FS is working with weird decimals almost everywhere for some reason. Improving the numbers could affect the decimal and lead to different rounding
That could possibly explain why some stats change by 1 point, but even this seems a bit strange.
Why would the max stat be rounded differently at different points during the upgrade process, even when viewed in the same menu?
Also, i do not see, how different rounding could possibly account for a stat changing by 2 points (for example: burn stat changing from 76 to 74 in one case).
…They do not want all your stats to be 80% for one…and two…That burn stat % went somewhere else. To a stat that wasn’t as high…almost certain of that.
Why in the hell would they purposely let everyone make all 80s across the board? No they never once claimed that. Only that they’d be making it easier for Refinement/Blessing stuff to be changed freely.
The 80% Max…is just a maximum it can be…it will go up or down with RNG still at max Empowerment.
Yea every time you empower the weapon the max % number seems to have a chance to change by 1 or 2 percent. Most stay the same, but if you are empowering something from like <400 in the 10 empowers at least one of the “max stats” will probably change and swap a percent or two with another stat. I’ve also had some clearly bugged ones where the cap % says like 12% and just increases by its 1-2% every upgrade along with its current rating until it eventually gets to whatever final number it wants, usually 59-62% if it starts that low.
Guy… what they said is that you will see the stats of the weapon when fully upgraded. If the weapon was showing a value of 76% at max, it should be 76% at max… nothing else is expected here.
So, @Flawless is correct to think that this is not working as indented if what he is describing happened to one of his weapons.
The base stats add up to 381, when 380 should be the maximum. I haven’t compared all of the stuff I’ve upgraded so no idea what the range or frequency of this error is. And it’s worth mentioning DT has had a horde of bugs that are visual only, when the numbers & function still work as intended. Idk if that’s the case here too or not.
Also since we’re here I have to bring up the sorting issue:
Idk why they decided to off the old rating system but the one we have now is completely useless:
The rating doesn’t give a damn about the perks or blessings, it’s just a rough estimate of the base score at intervals of 10
So you get unupgraded trash across all your inventory rated as higher than your best, most optimal gear
But instead of using the actual base score (300 - 380) they just made that add up to an arbitrary 500 while the real total stats number isn’t even there anymore??
So now we literally have to count all 5 stats together in our head for no reason?
They added favorites, but you can’t sort by them so what’s the point other than preventing deletion (maybe, haven’t tested)?
Rn the only sorting option that’s of any use at all is alphabetical. But ofc since they changed half the names in there and sorting within the same weapons is still based on the semi-arbitrary new “rating”, that’s hardly ideal either. To say nothing of the wonderful process of trying to track down where the mission reward gear goes, nvm deleting them.
I don’t want to just complain I mean the new patch is frigging amazing for everything it added! It really is! But some of this stuff really makes it look like they had to skip weeks of basic design & testing work to rush the thing out of the door.
This was mentioned in one of the patch announcement threads. If in doubt, empowering the weapon once should show you the correct end result. Anything before that is a visual bug. I’ve upgraded like 10+ perfect weapons now, and I had 2 brick because I kept empowering to see if that 59% would end up getting rounded up to 60%, which it never did.
The point is:
Items display „current stats“ as well as „stats after fully upgraded“.
The entire point of having the „stats after fully upgraded“ being displayed, is that they tell you what you get if you upgrade the item.
If they randomly change, once you start upgrading, their entire point of existence is removed.
It is like getting a box that says „click 10 times to get the apple that is inside“
Then you click 5 times and the box now says „click 5 more times to get the banana that is inside“.
Dude it’s a difference of one shot dreg gunner with my Zarona or two shots. I have two high tier revolvers and I am using the one that like 2% damage higher. But the overall dating is lower. Or it could be 1-2% of penetration that will make a difference.
You clearly don’t know a thing about this game. I don’t care how much hours you have.
Thanks for confirmation Hank, can you let us know what is the level of discrepancies on this bug? Is it like 1-2% or it can be higher than that. I deleted bunch of weapons yesterday cause they didn’t show 4x80%… Also is there any ETA on that. Like 1/3 of new crafting system rides on people trying to keep best rolled weapons and delete ones that are not, so it’s kind of a BIG bug.
