I noticed several issues with the boltgun and vraks Mk VII headhunter autogun regarding their animations (these may also be present in other autoguns). When you swap to them, you rack the bolt, which doesn’t make sense, since that would eject a round from the gun for no reason. While it can be explained that you’re just examining the chamber to see if there’s a round there, the character pulls the bolt back all the way (rapidly, like in reload) instead of partially, and lets it fly forward instead of slowly. For heavy guns like the bolter, you can give it the flamer treatment, where it’s just brought up slowly.
Another is the animation for top up loading (reloading with a round in the chamber). In this case the character also racks the bolt, which would again eject the round in the chamber. This I can excuse if the explanation is that all reloads are full reloads, because you can’t fire off the round in the chamber mid reload (as soon as you press the reload key, the ammo counter goes to 0, not 1).
Any thoughts?
EDIT: I may be wrong here, but I noticed on the vraks autogun that when you empty the gun, the bolt is in the forward position. Shouldn’t it be in the back position?
