Power Falchion is what you get when you listen to sweats for balance

Meaning you get mediocre trash (at best), that will hopefully someday gets buffed to be fun.

Power Falchion is “bad” because Fatshark refused to fix the overall balancing via using a more efficient method. They chose to just lazily buff the HP of Armoured Enemies and this left a LOT of Weapons behind in the dust.

They could’ve nerfed Duelling Sword and friends in order to adjust Enemies around a fixed, more consistent state of balance, but they chose not to rip the Band-Aid off and now the previously balanced or underperforming Weapons are almost useless.

You blame “sweats” but many of these so-called “sweats” were asking for nerfs, specifically to overperforming Weapons, so that things like this WOULDN’T happen. U capisti?

All you ever do is complain about sweat go buy some deoderant.

Is a sweat just someone who knows how to use the weapons?

I still think it’s funny that the power falchion was their followup on the ominous “Vet will get more weapons soon!” announcement. Everyone was creaming themselves over the possibility of an LMG, a meltagun, a vet flamer, a hotshot lasgun… only for them to reskin a relic blade to give Vet what is essentially another mark of powersword.

Which by the way they could’ve done too but then it wouldn’t have been a “new weapon”. Fatshark does not seem to understand what players want really.

I have no idea why Fatshark keeps giving the Ranged Specialist Class class-exclusive melee weapons.

Is the Falchion bad, or just when compared to DS?

I’ve been using it a lot to great effect (if I say so myself ). It’s got good damage and cleave with an interesting moveset. The heat mechanic feels way better than the PS activation to boot.

Yeah but who could have foreseen this? You’d need Kwisatz Haderach levels of prescience to foresee this !111!!!

/s in case it wasn’t obvious, most everyone saw this worse choice and worse outcome coming.

If OP is looking someone to blame, first and foremost blame the “Muh never nerf only buff(mobs)” brigaders further embolden by people like OP, who share in the blame. FS chose to make a “business” decision and cater to them rather than choosing the sensible solution.

Agreed, but Fatshark’s already committed to buffing Enemies to Players’ level and nerfing their spawns. It’ll ultimately all work out, but it’ll take a heck of a lot longer than just… nerfing the handful of OP stuff.

I might be in the minority, but for quick play on Aurics, it was pretty good. Not great, but fine; and when charged up, it had it’s moments. I kinda wish other charged swords did need to be micromanaged and charged constantly. The weapon looks a bit oafish to me compared to other blades, so I don’t use it anymore. Looks like a cartoon pirate cutlass.

The Falchion can handle just about any enemy in melee; it has it’s strengths and weaknesses. Not the best against armor, but blessings can make it decent at that. it’s got okay dodge. The problem is, it’s only good while charged, and you gotta use Heatsink w/ high crit chance, and something like Energy Leakage. Managing it’s heat and it’s a decent melee weapon.

In a vacuum, it’s not terrible; it’s just mediocre compared to all the other power creep that’s going on.

Power Falchion is really good. It’s not as powerful as the powersword but much more easy to use with a cool hard diagonal attack pattern. On a Weapon Specialist vet it’s actually my favorite.

Would love it on Zealot, since I don’t much like the way Relic Blade feels.

Power Falchion is great, Fatshark just keeps buffing brainless enemies (crusher) and refuses to Nerf dueling sword and remove it from classes.

Oh no, this dude again

That’s exactly it. You know who you are

Duelling Sword doesn’t need to be removed from any Archetype. Further nerfs will be sufficient, as Duelling Sword is just as broken on Veteran and Zealot as it is on Psyker.

It needs both nerfed and removed from Zealot.
