Poor Performance RTX 3080 | AMD 5800x | 32gb RAM 3600MHz

Platform: Steam

Issue Description:
Inconsistent + poor FPS across all missions. Highs of ~120, with lows of 65-70, running at literally minimum settings. Everything has been set to minimum/turned off to maximize performance. Poor performance has been present for over a year or play. When I was still using a 1080p monitor I could turn DLSS off and maintain the same FPS with it turned to quality. I

Attempted Solutions:
Downloaded experimental build
Ran in borderless window mode + full screen
With/without DLSS
Disabled mods
Disabled steam overlay
Disabled ray tracing in game and in the settings file
Verified game integrity
Game is using the correct GPU
Disabled background applications
Updated GPU drivers multiple times
Changing worker thread count to values between 4-14
CPU/GPU temps sub 80C at all times during gaming
Set GPU power management to Prefer Maximum Performance

I myself have a 7800 XT and a 7600x and I’m experiencing the exact same thing as you. The lower FPS during hordes is fine enough but yeah its that inconsistency that ruins it. I believe the latest update hurt performance a ton or if its a coincidental thing with something else? I am seeing a consistent issue where people having issues are using AMD CPUs as even my 10400f that I had before didn’t have these issues.

I think I replied to your reddit post but I’ll report it here to bump this up!

I think they did something related to the CPU usage, because mine (8700k) didn’t used to spike 100%, now it does.
Didn’t changed anything about system besides windows updates and Anniversary Part 2.

Intel CPU (i7-10700F) with a geforce 3060ti here, didn’t have issues until recent hotfixes-- noticing lots of issues with frame timing. Framerate has been largely irrelevant to me, as the game usually “feels” (I’m not bothering to measure since I can tell when things get chunky) like it’s running smoothly even at a lower framerate (usually at least 60 or so), but frame drops and frame pacing issues have really gone to pot over the last few hotfixes.

i7-8700, RTX 3070, 32 GB RAM.

I play mostly minimum settings too and it goes between 40-100 fps.
Something else that’s inconsistent is that sometimes when I start the game up, it just works worse than usual… needing a restart to work better.
It’s disgusting how badly Darktide is performing sometimes.

If you updated your graphics drivers recently I am aware that the newest AMD drivers do not place nice with Darktide. You may want to roll back 1 or 2 versions and see if frame rates improve.

Saw another post yesterday say the same thing. Rolled back to 23.11.1 drivers and apart from traversal stutter which is fine compared to what it was before its been smooth sailing.

Playing on mostly medium at 3440x1440 with FSR 2 on balanced and I get around 120 FPS at the highs and about 90 FPS on the lows during hordes. Definitely a VERY playable experience.
