Polls for Itemization and Progression, that hopefully provide the relevant context and nuance

Wouldn’t abstain also be an option? Looking back on my votes, I did as you suggested. I was clarifying my vote.

Yes. It is an option.

Ok. That is not a bad idea.

Maybe i should have added an other poll, asking if people want their max upgraded items to be actually maxed out, of if they want to have some limitations.

Then again, i wanted to keep it somewhat short. There are probably a thousand questions that could be asked.

Makes sense to me, and I actually think this closely resembles what was previewed. The manner in which the “one step back” occurs seems to me channeled through the base weapon you start with.

Here’s my read:

  • Locks broken, yay
  • Use mastery points to adjust any stats and blessings you want, BUT
  • Mastery points are finite, and you can only customise a weapon so far

Meaning that bases are still important, since starting with an inherently better base will cost you less points to amend.

A simple example being if my base inherently has a T4 blessing, I won’t need to spend points to upgrade or change it (provided I want that blessing). Thus freeing up points.

I know it’s a lot of conjecture at this point, but have another look and maybe you’ll see what I see… Combined with no word on weapon base acquisition changes, and you have… A CONSPIRACY

That’s what I saw of the itemization changes as well and thought this was the best compromise. RNG is retained, there’s still the chance (if at all) to get the “perfect weapon” (I think?) But I’m thinking if you get a 380, have two perks at max, and two blessings at IV, the mastery points will allow you to get a 600. I think. So it is possible, but you gotta keep playing to find it. In short of that, you can still optimize what you want to get the ideal build, it seems like.

I’m excited to see what the changes will be.

Yeah, I’m still really offended by the weapon base acquisition methods available. I really hope that gets looked at from a UI/UX perspective as well as a mathematical one.

At least my distaste for gambling and time-wasting is mitigated by an optimistic attitude and low bar of excellence
