I never said you needed to do that. I just said you need to play more carefully when UTD is on CD. Which you don’t do and you’re punished for it.
Brother you got true survivor part of your name on these forums “Im not an elitist” lmao. You are the definition of what’s wrong with this game
That isn’t playing more carefully - you are expecting me to know the future. Both of those clips show something that was out of my control yet you still think it was in my control. You just aren’t mentally capable of understanding this and it’s okay, just move on my dude.
Those two clips were in your control, in clip 1 you kept pushing even when UTD is on cool down and you had more than enough time to back pedal from the barrel. The second clip you just stood there when you could’ve easily ran left and avoided the barrel entirely(The ogryn literally warned you). Also in both instances UTD was on CD and you would’ve lived had it been off. It’s not my fault your crashing out on me here lol.
It was to prove a point because back then people didn’t pick Ogryn’s to play Havoc because of said nerfs at the time. The whole idea is that I could do it with him even with said nerfs as a post to show people you can indeed play him & get True survivor, nonetheless. Not hard to understand that either, lol. You’re seething & coping like crazy now, trying to pull out whatever you can, but learning the game, lmao.
I remember we had a conversation before about Havoc & clearly you didn’t know what you were talking about then either. You even admitted you don’t even play it at the time. Incredibly nervy as fk lool.
You don’t seem to fathom that I don’t need to have until death to survive - which is why I am top of the board damn near every game save for Hive scum. The reason I made this post is because it amazes me how I can survive thousands of enemies but the one thing that kills me is a barrel and we got tweedle dee and tweedle dum over here saying “oh just know the map layout! Oh just avoid every critical situation if one cooldown is off!” ya’ll are just straight up ignorant and it’s okay, keep living that way and see how far it gets ya!
I don’t play havoc and never will. Anyone that actually enjoys this game and isn’t a min/maxer, they aren’t touching havoc let alone enjoying it. Look through the forums and look how much everyone enjoys havoc!
That’s fine & now you’re getting my point, right… Why elaborate on something you have no idea about trying to prove me wrong on a topic in which you don’t even partake in? It’s the height of ignorance, no? Or am I the one being super unreasonable here? lmao.
What are you even talking about? Where in this post was Havoc mentioned? Jesus Christ you are projecting like crazy. You brought it up and I replied.
Clearly, you do since you keep dying to barrels with UTD off. It tells me you need to work on situational awareness. Also, I’m not saying you just can’t stop playing the game when UTD is off, I’m just saying play more carefully, then when it’s back, go back on the offensive.
Like I said, you aren’t mentally capable of processing what I am posting and it’s alright - but you don’t need to keep replying with your nonsense. It makes absolutely no sense once so ever
Really? lmao. You’re going to play this game now?
Clearly you remember what we talked about just with this one quote, now you’re playing stupid, which is pretty typical losing an argument as one does.
I’ve processed that you died in two situations where you could have fully avoided those two barrels. I’ve processed that you still need to learn the game if you keep dying to barrels while on martyr dom,
As I said before, go through the forums and see how much everyone enjoys havoc. If it was up to the community, havoc would be either A. Gone tomorrow or B. Have all ranking and loss attrition removed.
Yep I died in two situations that were completely out of my control yet you think they were somehow in my control which shows your mental capacity.
The huge difference between poxbursters and barrels is that the fact is that, again, their appearence within darktide adds increased layers of complexity that have poentially wider and more interesting. If I were to remove and that part of the game- and my overall enjoyment of the game were to increase or somehow become less interesting. I would definitely feel the lack of the prescene of pox bursters- but I would definitely not at all miss or even notice the lack of barrels half the time.
You’re trying to convey answers to questions. I’m not saying that barrels are a super duper hard enemy in darktide that should be nerfed and i’m missing obvious counters- i’m asking the question of why should barrels exist in the first place? This is an honest question.
What do players gain when they have barrels in the game and the consequences of them failing to account for them? Poxbursters have a huge amount of sway in the consequences of not dealing with them that game-warping decisions that players have to account for them correlates to makes the game more interesting and more fun in playing with and around them.
I can simply shove the poxburster when they come alone. That’s a simple solution; But what happens if there’s a horde and the poxburster comes? I could also push it, but that necessarily means that I have to place my block status up which both disallows me from attacking as well as risk losing stamina from stray hits in the process. That’s cool- but what if I’m dealing with a horde that’s all around me? I could kite away- but that causes me to loose space in the macro dynamic. That’s bad, but risking taking damage from the burster or what supports it is probably worse.
What about the career specific abilites? I could use vet and psyker shout to push away the burster, that allows a much easier and safer way of dealing with them but at the cost that it’ll come off cooldown. Do I need Venting shriek in the next 25 seconds? What if I should save it so I can get more warp battery stacks?
There’s a lot that poxbursters bring to the table- and lines of thinking has done in just a few seconds.
Now, what do barrels do? Well… they explode and causes me to take damage and make me unable to move. So… the counterplay is to… just shoot them and wait for them to explode. Waiting… waiting in action video game.
Do I do anything else? Not really.
That’s not fun, that’s busy work. Why should the game have busywork?
I literally lost a havoc 40 game where due to my ogryn bullrush got interrupted by a barrel getting shot at my side. In all of my ways of thinking and perspectives from the immediate first experience, the secondary retrospection and tritrary retrospection or retrospection I cannot concieve any possible reasons why barrels should be able to shutdown players like this.
Okay. let’s give ogryn an ability that grants him to tread long distances- which both helps in overall mobility in a class that’s oft slow but also enables him to be incredibly offensive against not just melee targets but also close the distance against ranged targets. This creates a risk-reward dynamic of allowing ogryn to get in close for easy kills but also puts him away from his team.
But wait- there’s a barrel! What’s the dynamics of that barrel?
It explodes.
Okay, what happens if it explodes in my face.
You lose health and you lose control of your character for several seconds.
Okay, but how do I counter that?
You shoot it!
Okay… but my entire class is about getting up and personal against ranged enemies that are time-sensitive. Am I just supposed to halt all of my character’s pace, take my time to shoot barrels, and then actually get to play the game I signed up for?
Yes.
Why should I do that? Wouldn’t the game just be better if… it just didn’t have that? That isn’t any fun. I think that’s bad game design.
Actually, you’re the one whom has a problem with this.
This is pretty hilarious now. We got to stop before you embarrass yourself even more here, my man. My suggestion is that you spend even more time in this game studying the map layout & maybe you could draw them up like Leonardo Da Vinci. That way, you can always know where the barrels are. ![]()

They were in your control, you just wasn’t aware. You had enough time to back pedal in the first clip and in the second clip you literally just stood still when the ogryn made an audible open call out. It seems you can’t process that I’m telling you need to play more carefully and go full aggressive when your 5 second safety net is off of CD
“had enough time to backpedal” lmfao. The clip in .25 speed and as soon as I round the box, it explodes. What you are saying is, I had plenty of time to react to something that happened all within the SAME SECOND.
The self-awareness is amazing here.
I’m guessing you’ve never clutched in this game to know how valuable barrels can be, right. There is some utility there. Ohh, I’m the one with the problem here? Not that people who get downed by barrels not knowing where they are on the map, lmao. Give me a break here, lol.
