In general, yes, I agree that the idea with fear would be much better and I even remembered the prerequisites for it: the initial video of the DT, where visions are chasing a person in a shuttle and covers the entire crew from the transition from the warp. It was interesting there, of course I understand that it is stupid to wait for psychedelics in the battles of the hive city, because there is no warp breakthrough there, but why not implement it through warp sorcerers?
Here’s an idea that just came to mind: A chaos psyker (EP) unexpectedly appears at the location, far ahead and protected by a force field. To disable the force field, players need to break certain artifacts (similar to the columns in the new missions) or do something else, it doesn’t matter. While the EP is alive, hordes and so on will constantly appear through warp portals. As a cherry on top, players start experiencing hallucinations, such as seeing a specialist (who doesn’t damage health but deals additional damage to mental health), marking/shooting at them, and so on. Once the specialist is hit, they vanish with a violet smoke effect. Another player (2) won’t see the specialist, but if the first player (1) marks it, the second player sees the mark in space and it doesn’t move. While the EP is alive, players constantly suffer from slow warp insanity (a new scale of some sort), and when it reaches its maximum, they can’t differentiate between allies and enemies (for player 1, player 2 will appear as a random specialist), and the second will take damage from the first, as they are considered a threat. The curse can only be lifted by killing the enemy psyker. After reaching the insanity threshold, a timer is activated (one minute, for example, or more depending on difficulty - higher difficulty = shorter timer), during which the EP needs to be eliminated. Otherwise, the first player turns into a demon host (similar to the old 2 kills difficulty), and after their death, they can only be revived through a ritual (press E and protect the one performing it, don’t leave the circle), with a mandatory horde and specialists while the ritual is active. Additionally, each operative carries one ampoule/syringe that temporarily slows down the warp psychosis (when it’s possible to apply it - but without any effect). It can be used on both oneself and an ally, and these resources are not replenished in any way.

In principle, even I liked the idea and I would really like to see this, it would be very cool in an aurik main storm, where there are already a lot of enemies and specialists, but all the difficulty comes down to random teammates) Just imagine how it would start playing. I bought it to play from time to time with some mates, the game combat is pretty shallow, no staying power for me after 30 hours or so. Maps are also fairly bland, even if I appreciate the biome variety.
this is a good game that I appreciate (except maps with gigantic wall in middle). But, even if I can get some stress in it, I don’t get this feeling that I have in darktide… when I pray to get to this gunner…
However I begin to get fun fights in HD2, at lvl 7 with a light armor and a jetpack.
But combat is far away of Darktide. And this makes me rage. Why FS has wanted to sabotage their own product?
I can understand that they don’t get the resources of Sony, but there are problems that result from their decisions for the game… not from the concept or the resources. The lack of communication is one of them, the features that creates a system of perpetual frustration is an other one (crafting… weapon acquisition, blessing acquisition, the need to recraft every weapon for all chars etc.) and the last one (of my list, I am sure there are other items I did not think about)… the casual gamers exclusion that is the worst of everything they could do and also the dumbest.
They could have a lot more players… at least 15 times more. And the choices for this game has lead to a population of 3k players. And that’s make me sad for them, and angry about this wasted potential.
The crazy RNG and the constant nurfing have killed all fun in this game for me. this update feels tone-def. maybe in 6 months, the game will be good and the 300 people left playing it will have a blast

Sounds good! Not into achievement collecting for their own sake myself, but obviously it’s different when there’s actual rewards like cosmetics etc. involved.
Titles being visible in missions reminded me of another thing! It would be fantastic if at some point we could see our teammate’s auras in the UI! They have invisible effects that can sometimes be profound for our builds and how we play, yet joining ongoing missions means we have no idea what they are. ![]()
They removed Lucky Bullet proccing on empty guns, game is broken and sucks now.
I’m going to get my hopes up for this months update.
I bet Fatshark have some really nice game improvements ready to go, accross all classes and weapon types. And they have some changes they are going to roll out to other things too! Like the Commissariat, and maybe even the Commodores Vestures (could we see a wider catalogue??? MAYBE!)
Heck, I wager they even going to finally fix the Krieg premium outfit. Fix all those pesky bugs we’ve been reporting and on top of that? We get the new Penances.
Just you wait, this next update will be way better than we initially thought. This is the first one of the year!

Yeah having anything at all pleasant or non scummy about the cosmetic shop might make me actually want to buy something! Can’t have that, gotta exclusively target whales with zero self regulation.
I imagine they’ll do corruption damage rather than straight health damage, like in the boss event. It’ll be different enough if that’s the case.
