So I played this wonderful patch for 6 hours and I can say that the new cosmetics all look terribly. I won’t be able to complete many challenges, for example with grimoires, because I play as Auriok Maelstorm and there are none there and never were. I’m not going to do these challenges on a regular 5-man team. The concept itself is cool, but it’s not a reason for players to come back for long. Currently, there are 8k+ online, it will hold for 10-15 days and then drop to 3k on weekends. The new mob - the sound of the throw appears 30% of the time and neither me nor my teammates can quickly deal with it 10/10. For 6 hours, there are no maps on Maelstorm with this modifier, will I see them there at all? Moving on - your playtesters wrote that players spend a lot of time in the event zones, and you know where? The Archivum Sycorax map - there, I did indeed see that, you know where? Archivum Sycorax map - I jumped around the lights under the ceiling for 100 plaststeel, really, 100 on the 5th difficulty in Auriok Maelstorm - oh yeah, a worthy reward for 1.5 minutes, I won’t do that anymore. Why did you power up the build for the shooting psyker, what for, are staffs just worthless and unplayable with them?
Dear Sharks, if there is no NEW weapon (not modifications of existing ones), new maps, and decent crafting in the upcoming patches, the question arises - why do you have a forum with feedback when you don’t use it? You were given many good ideas for implementation, and what’s the result? A patch with cosmetics? I have 1.7k hours in this game, do you think cosmetics will please me? From the entire patch, I can only highlight 3-4 separate cosmetic items, a new enemy, and that’s all, nothing more. The Deeds system is not interesting to me. The system displaying contracts in the hub - it has been among the mods for a long time, what else will you add from them? Every patch feels like a spit in the face to the players.
Fluff update, that really removed the only reason i grind lol, to get the 1 000 000 kills
I had like 750 000, so now i got the frame for “free” with the update…
What the game needs is, new characters, fixed crafting, new enemies (not re-skinned ones), new weapons and new maps, In that order.
The grind for cosmetics is a good idea, but most of the stuff I saw in the list was kind of “meh”, some boring skins, nothing comes close to the paid cosmetics… and of course its by design.
If there where like 2-3 cool skins and hats per character and cool weapons skins that could be awesome, but this meh stuff nah.
Also how do we earn penance points? Is it only when completing penance or is there some other way? Puzzles?
I have managed like 80% of the penance and I have only 2300 points… the stuff at the end cost 4k + each
With this kind of snail pace that Fat shark is working, we will probably get some content added in about 12 years. I mean FS is a 2 man company right?
Take heart. With to this nerf Fatshark is inching closer to being forced into addressing the games borked ammo economy. Should only take them another 2-4 years to get around to. Maybe.
I mostly play Auric/Maelstrom, which is incidentally where Survivalist was most OP due to the constant elite/special spawns. Low difficulties are where the aura had the least impact.
On teams where people actually know how to melee, ammo was never an issue with Survivalist aura in the group. Sure it was possible to run out if you tried to shoot every pox walker, but that’s not how the game is meant to be played. Melee is called your “primary weapon” for a reason.
Still forming my impression of the update and getting a feel for it, but just wanted to address this point before it slipped my mind: anyone else noticed that the change to the voice effects is a bit spotty? I’m struggling a bit with how to articulate it, but what I mean to say is that whether or not the filter-voice change actually occurs seems a bit inconsistent.
For example, with the newly unlocked “Atoman Pattern Combat Helm With Rebreather”, my veteran will sometimes get the corresponding voice change, but then just…won’t on others. Hell if I know why… So far I haven’t been able to determine any rhyme or reason to it.
Fatshark : creates a class all about shooting with an entire tree dedicated only to guns and increasing the damage of guns and the ability to use guns even when pressured, completely losing any form of melee buff and pushing the class behind every important melee threshold and another tree mostly made around covering your teammates with your ranged weapon while buffing them in mid range
Fatshark : also uses an absurd amount of ranged enemies that can shoot you from the other side of the country and through obstacles and that will mow a good team down in less then 10 seconds if they are not immediately executed

If the shooty class with the worst melee gameplay in the game, that was literally only able to do range combat for more then a year and was advertised everywhere as the shooty class can’t use their shooty weapon to kill stuff what’s the point of a shooty class ? Kerilian in Vermintide, the melee centric game, can have more consistent shooting than a Veteran with an automated rifle and she uses bows and spears.
Meanwhile Ogryn can have simultaneously the firepower of 2 Veterans with an autogun that is efficient against every type of enemy or a grenade launcher that can delete entire groups of elites and still have great melee options and the best blitz in the game.
If you’re gonna try and claim that it wasn’t lasguns with which you had infinite ammo, you were not excelling in that team, you probably did ok or got carried.
I have plenty of experience too pal, and what you’re saying doesn’t make sense to someone who usually outperformed the rest of their team.
Shooters in this game endless spawns and kill you in like a second flat. If you’re going to limit the vets ammo there should also be a hard limit on how many ranged units you spawn with pin-point accuracy to gun down the team. The enemy certainly has NO limit on wasting bullets. It’s more or less the game cheating now.
Canonically las-weapons could be fired for literal days anyway and recharged in sunlight.
It means you are doing something wrong. Spaming slide already was making you near invulnerable against shooters, in this patch they removed stagger from shots (game feels good and smooth now) and so shooters are completely useless now, even gunners, you can run around without locking them in melee and they can’t do anything.
I didn’t see that change about removing stagger from bullets.
I know the last time I played the only character who could slide the way you described was my zealot who removed melee stagger with a perk that also applied to bullets. My vet would take one bullet then multiple while sliding and losing momentum from being shot.
Slide puts you into dodge stance vs shots on every character, that’s why it was about spam, and unlike with dodges slide has no limit. But if gunner was catching you trying to start slide it become an input grape rhyme fest
While they’re fixing stuff they broke, maybe make the Survivor Scavenger nerf less heavy-handed as well. I don’t have a strong opinion on there being some degree of cooldown, but right now it’s just obnoxious.
Yeah I don’t think it makes sense in isolation. I meant not unreasonable in that Zealot is generally very strong, if it had come with nerfs to the other keystones as well or crit CDR it would have made reasonable sense to me. But yeah in the absence of other changes it’s certainly a very weird one to go after. Martyrdom with old Chaxe or new Evic is insane and way lower skill floor than people make out.
