Path of Redemption - NOW LIVE!

Guys help I think I’m having a stroke. The words on the screen are spinning all around and I can’t understand it.

It’s like a weird deformed version of English.

Why does the penance UI look like Season Pass thingy?

The new gas enemy and gas condition was, as expected, completely trite, uninteresting and uninspired… and of course worst of all, deeply annoying and simply unfun.

Good work.

Ah, been away for a few days and wanted to see the general feel for the update. Sounds about right

Probably to convey that it is a linear overall progression track slowly worked through by completing the individual tasks displayed in the grid above.

I like how there is a reccon lasgun skin, as if it’s not a dog tier gun.

His projectile is also not really predictable (I get that it’s on purpose) but from the visual standpoint - cartoonish zigzag ricochet looks silly and cheap.

Its just worse that its not with the kit, considering the Mk4 Accatran Lasgun is the standard-issue Elysian drop trooper weapon.

Like Blog’s Walloper not being with Blog. Or those Krieg shovels separate from the Krieg sets with the description that nobody would be caught dead without it. The usual Fat Shark, apparently 2022/23 was a fever dream and the store never had bundles.

Same here. All kinds of errors. Tried the experimental version and didnt help either.

I wish the mission selection gave you more choice in general. I check the site, see none of the maps I want to play (for penances) and don’t even boot up the game and start something else. I’ve gotten to the point already where I don’t even check the site.

Sure, Auric is a thing, but that has the same issue and if it doesn’t have a map you want to play, it doesn’t have the map you want to play.

I think I should make sure that this statement wasn’t lost in the noise. Has anyone who’s been running stuff like a stealth build been granted penances upon logging in? I had to start over from zero, and I believe that’s everyone else’s experience.

I’ve got a bug report for it now, since I doubt Fatshark would allow someone to just say something like this with no intention to follow through, with how their communications apparently require a ton of approval. If y’all could corroborate your experiences, that would help.

All of the new aura, keystone, new blitz and new ultimate penances. All of the mission completions by difficulty.

Edit: I’ll add that to the bug thread.

The tracking for some things, like number of enemies engulfed in smoke, simply wasn’t tracked before now. The code to track it didn’t exist.

And I wouldn’t have a problem with that, if they hadn’t gone and said they’d be automatically completed.

If Fatshark is going to claim that the reason it’s so slow at communicating is approval and cross-checking, they could at least not put their foot in their mouth by promising something they have no ability to follow through on.

This is the first time in 6 days since the patch was released that I got a gas map on Auric Maelstrom… I wish it never happened. I have a lot of questions.
he playtesters were playing on which difficulty, on the 1st? Because on the 5th in AM there are so many of these steam things with healing now that you can heal from every scratch and they still don’t run out. And why are there fewer mobs now? 1.8k mobs on 5 AM, seriously? In other modifiers, there were 3k ±300. And what logic was used to place the gas spores, I don’t see it at all, the main motivation was to put them where players sat for a long time. For your information, at the event event, players sit for a long time, why are they there, and if you do, then let the whole arena be in them to justify the amount of steam.

Why is the reward greater than for the most difficult modifier where there are monsters, Nurgl buff, waves of enemies and other challenges worth 22k experience points (that AM players understood), why is the reward higher for such a simple modifier?

However, what response am I hoping for, this event we are proud of…yes, yes, it is shameful, period.

Bulwarks

  • Removed the “force field” in front of Bulwarks that allowed them to block hits/shots that didn’t look like they would be blocked by their shield.

  • Increased health by 33%, and set lower stagger resistance during attack animations.

While I realise shots not being blocked in mid-air will make Bulwarks considerably less frustrating to fight with many weapons, this works out as a massive penalty to attacks where much of their game role was the capacity to bypass shields.

On Damnation, Brain Rupture now needs three charges (taking you from 0% to 100% Peril if no other buffs are in play) to take out a Bulwark, despite being long established as an attack that could effectively bypass shields and armour.

I agree - to be worth it brain rupture should get a considerable damage buff or a slight rework:
I‘d prefer if it could one shot anything but it would take different time depending on remaining target hp.

The way BB should’ve worked all this time.

Man.

I hate the penances.

EDIT:

Any chance someone at Fatshark could do the “Heavy Hitter” penance on Ogryn for me? I really don’t want to.

I figure since you designed the penances, you must think they’re a good idea. Maybe you could endlessly hold down the heavy attack button for 10 games instead? Thanks.

In terms of honest feedback on some of the penances, they feel too damned grindy. Flawless calculated that Munitorums Favour (ogryn penance), requires 60 minutes of shooting with the fastest firing weapon to accomplish.

The sheer number of games I’ve played using classes I don’t even enjoy or talents that are plain bad, just to try and finish these damned penances. Loyal Protector for “Pick on Someone your Own Size”, Frag Bombs for “Crowd Control” and of course “Sustained Fire”, are my current crosses to bear.

Thanks for that. I just want to play the game normally, why are you still making the same mistakes regarding penances?

And before someone says “You don’t have to do them! Or rush them!” No, but they present this as a game update. As something to do, as in, pursue. If they were intended as a background thing then you don’t present them in this way. The bar filling up and the cosmetics and little rewards are presented as something you should work towards actively, not passively.

Tons of them seem made up without any thought as to actually accomplishing them. Like someone just made them up in a meeting room before a meeting to make a deadline, and signed off in with about as much review.

Same goes for the Pennances they later locked behind private games however, so FS appears consistent on those counts.
