I get it and I understand where you’re coming from. You’re also not the one usually riling people up, so I wasn’t expecting that to be your mission. Furthermore, I think that my lenghty post got the main point across, pecentages be damned.
Makes total sense to me. I even think I could tolerate this system if we only had to gamble for a base weapon once and we got rid of all the locked stuff (and preferably the unnecesary re-rolling).
@Axehilt Either you didn’t get the point or we have radically different stadards when it comes to enjoying a game. I’ll make a few remarks.
- From what I’ve seen the standard is faaaar from 360+ items. If it was as you describe it would actually be somewhat bearable. (tehre are lots of posts from people dumping millions or dockets)
- If I need to use a third party app to monitor the in-game store, and be ready to launch the game when I spot something I like, then something is definitely wrong. That option can not be seen as a plus, no matter how you look at things, and especially not since it’s 3rd party.
- So what do you think about the time spent? Closer to 5 minutes or closer to 2 hours? Remember, it’s an item as described in “First example”. It need to meet (mediocre) breakpoints to serve it’s purpose. See below.
Agreed on that one. If you have unlocked a blessing you want to apply and the blessing slot isn’t locked it should only take seconds.
I can almost agree to those numbers ASSUMING that you are extremely lucky with your rolls. That’s the point though, that it requires extreme luck and that it MAY take 10 minutes total, when it just as well could take many times that.
I present the Combat Axe:
(totally fictional)
Assuming I have the dockets:
- Roll for base modifier (either base 350+ and ~75% damage modifier or base 370+ and ~40% damage modifier)
Time spent for my 30 rolls, 3 minutes. Time spent dismantling the other 29 items, another 5 minutes. - Roll for base perks (either tier 3 flak damage or tier 2 unyielding)
Time spent is a few seconds BUT if 1/2 isn’t rolled, go back to the first step. This can happen every singel time. - Re-roll the second perk (the one that’s left)
Assuming you have the dockets, resources, and patience to reach this step. Spend 2 seconds or 45 minutes rolling a tier X or higher of desired perk. - Profit
Total time? Who knows. What’s clear is that it CAN take 10 minutes, but it CAN also take way longer than any mission ever would. If you reach the step where you re-roll the second perk, at least you know you’ll get there eventually (assuming you control you own bedtime). Do you really want to (potentially) spend all that time managing your inventory though?
tl;dr: Yes, on the lower end it could take 10 minutes but on the higher end it could literally take hours. How much time you spend/waste remains a huge question mark and you will only know if you succeed.
If I’m the other poster, then no, it’s coming form the exact same place. If I’m not the other poster, ignore this comment. Someone is usually right about something.
