Optimization potential: Texture/model load-in

Hi mate,

Just want to report at least for me with my 7900xtx, that disabling Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) has improved not only my games smoothness massively, but my input lag AND texture streaming issues have improved DRASTICALLY.

Interestingly enough, the last driver that was good was 23.11.1 which was the last driver before HAGS was introduced.

Could you please do some testing for my by disabling Resizable Bar (only on AMD) and HAGS and let me know if you also notice this improvement?

(this may only apply to AMD cards)

Disabling mesh streaming reduced frame drops a lot. And the Vram usage didn’t really increase that much. Thank you, mate

I cannot find any way to disable HAGS in Win10 with my 6950 (neither in the system - display - graphics settings, nor in the registry).
Disabling Resizable Bar would also disable SmartAccessMemory, which I would rather not disable.

Hi Dak,

To my understanding HAGS is not supported with the AMD 6000 series graphics cards, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that :).

Smart Access Memory and Resizable Bar are the same thing (just an AMD branding of it).

I just toggle it off when I play darktide and toggle on when I dont.
