In order to add another layer of progression beyond farming weapons, I think Fatshark should implement a weapon progression system.
Currently experience earned past 30 has no function, other than an Emperor’s gift at every level up (which is normally sold because the stats are too low).
I think it would be a great if we could instead level up our weapons instead.
First to 380, and then beyond to 400 - earning a final 20% bump through proficiency and slaughter.
You could also implement weapon specific challenges to unlock more perk and blessing slots.
People have been screaming this at Fatshark for over a year.
Some Manager or C-Suite however is really infatuated with Gacha/mobile gambling mechanics, despite not understanding how to properly implement them, and has stood firm on that hill no matter how badly it undercuts the rest of the product and work the team does on this game. It’s the single largest source of feedback that the community has been shouting at them for over a year now, and they keep ignoring it.
There are lots of ways Fatshark could incorporate xp expenditure into the game. I’d love it if you could unlock/upgrade perks and blessings with the xp you gain while using them.
It’s a perfectly good resource that players accumulate automatically, and it’s just sitting there without a purpose. Let us do something with it.
I played Destiny 1, skipped Destiny 2 because of their model. Now after 500 hours I am no longer playing Darktide. And I no longer buy skins since I don’t play.
Though it seems that most people do or else I can’t explain why they still use this progression system. That’s a pity.
