agree
it can and should be used offensively but it still lacks raw direct damage against single targets
and by defense I mean: crowd control, not standing still and blocking

Canāt find the clip this most reminded me of with a Shieldgryn special planting in the middle of a fire bomb but here are two similar classics. These date back to early Darktide but I feel like noob Shieldgryn behaviour hasnāt changed a lot over the years.

Well I certainly disagree.
Yes, afaik you canāt oneshot crushers, but 2 shots with push-atrack (the maul overhead following the push) is at least decent in my view, let it be three hits in worst case.
The light attacks do serious damage to every lesser enemy (sometimes one shots, which comes in handy with brutal momentum)
Bleed application is one of the best in game, at least does it feel to me that way.
And even just going to the heavy-combo (without canceling) does a very good job to everything the game throws at you, and that is easy to play.
And a shield has allways been an offensive weapon, it was never used to just block attacks.

dude iād drink coffee i would have spat it out at clip #2.
the guy wasnt even able to circle a bulwark or break his shield block (granted you need the right perks for it with a shield yourself)
BUT the way he gave up mid fight and look at you (for what exactly?confirmation, help, rashunsā¦) was the most āogrynā thing iāve seen so far.
praise the emprah it was only one enemy, todays spawn rate would kill him faster than he could mentally process

Exactly what I thought.
Ogryn like āyou mean shields are for coverin? I smash enemies with it. I like shield smashinā.

One time I remember joining one of the sandy maps (refinery?), near the start right before meds in circular area and everybody was down, I replaced a bot (I came in as vet).
I looked around, and the only thing alive was 1 bulwark, 1 bulwark took out all of them (they confirmed). I dropped a nade and killed it and revived all 3.
IIRC I imparted a few words of wisdom, nicely, and they were thankful.
1 lone bulwark took out 4 playersā¦(pre #13)

When karsolas flak maniac for fast mixed horde clear and carapace unyielding on my ranged weapon for bulwark/crusher debuff
in upload i got 2 new videos soon 
took the chance of going fast through a C I VI so i tested both karsolas flak maniac and branx unyielding carapace back to back.
spoiler, karsolas even with non crusher perks was so close in normal situation it rules supreme thanks to cleaving through your entire screen now
(disclaimer:bulwarks crushers and bosses killed seperately, cleave has its limits

Shield is actually one of ogrynās two best weapons, itās just the light attacks suck. Use the heavy attack with heavy hitter keystone and a good melee tree and itāll one shot most trash mobs. The second heavy has a massive hitbox and cleaves through trash waves easily. The first heavy is capable of stunning crushers out of their overhead.
If you want a good horde killer try the shovel with the two horizontal heavy attacks and a weakspot blessing. It will cleave through literally a whole squad of riflemen if you hit them right. You can also one shot crushers with it.

ive been ignoring single bulwarks for a couple of months now and nothing bad has happened.
my team has an easier time killing them if theyre following me with their backs turned and theyre too slow to catch up.
i think this is going to be the new bulwark meta
