How do you go fast as Ogryn? Everything seems slow. I usually carry a knife and a ripper, took out some clubs and a rumbler, and could barely keep up, and with vets and another ogryn.
Donāt know. He might have had extra stamina and/or sprint efficiency stuff. Was he sliding a bunch? Thatās one way to conserve stamina for sprinting, too.
I misread the assignment.
Cleaver has a sprint speed increase and sprinting without stamina is only 3ish% faster than walking.
Okay this is interesting. Some of the ogryn weapons donāt list sprint speed. Others do. I have a knife with sprint speed +0.70 and a club with sprint -0.00 but a power maul doesnāt slist at all.
I took a maul out to see if it still sucks, and yes, it still epic sucks⦠a iiib club doesnāt list speed at all, only the extra stamina consumption.
Is this a bug?
EDIT And the same type clubs give different readings, when they read at all!
On my Shield Ogryn, I have figured out how to do a mini-āIndomitableā whilst actually using āLoyal Protectorā, and all you need to have to do it is āAttention Seekerā! All you do from there is just walk through the horde whilst pushing over and over again. It is a LOT of fun, and it is also VERY good for Crowd Control.
I know I am a bit off-topic, but it actually helps a lot when you need to get to the opposite side of a horde fast!
uhā¦
Anyway, my above comment I think I figured it out. Itās from the mobility stat, where 80 mobility is trash and less then 80 is ermagerd bad. Weapons without a mobility stat just donāt say anything on sprint speed, just cost.
āAttention Seekerā makes it so that the enemies kinda just fold to my teammates when they get back up after being knocked over. You could try to recreate it without āAttention Seekerā, but Iām not sure of itās effectiveness.
And yeah, the mobility of your weapons is a BIG thing.
Unlikely.
Without being able to see what you see, Mobility stat usually only means how much stamina sprinting consumes and also dodge count/distance. I do not think thereās a weapon that gets an increased sprint speed from it.
I thought so too, but hey, hereās what Iām seeing. See the yellow outline. Note the top left and bottom right are both āclub family.ā I might should have used two of the same exact, but still.
mk 4 cleaver 80 mobility
w/ charge and āget stuck inā
also worth considering āunstoppable momentumā
Oh, thatās kind of weird as a replacement for a charge, but itās an interesting tactic. I havenāt used loyal protector, mostly run the right hand side, but Iām trying to use more of the weapons I usually donāt use.
Mix it up a bit, and I noticed Iām so danged slow compared to my usual cleaver as to be really noticeable. TBH Iām getting pretty salty about how slow everything is compared to knife, be it ogryn knife or human knife.
Bull Rush with 20% movement speed from using his ult.
Combine that with stacking sprint cost reduction from trinkets and his melee weapon, big boi will fly.
There are a bunch of ways to do this. Equip a weapon with a sprint speed bonus. Equip trinkets with sprint cost reduction and/or stamina regen. Use bull rush as your ultimate to cross long distances and grant a speed bonus that lasts even after the charge ends.
Additionally learn how to slide. Sliding is roughly comparable to sprinting but does not consume stamina so you can do it even when your stamina runs out, or to cross long distances while preserving stamina.
Looks like weapons with a listed mobility stat also then get that sprint speed doo-dah on the right. Those without, donāt. Iād never noticed it either 'til you pointed it out. Sprint speed is written top left on the weapon, itās 0 though for the baton, so maybe thatās why itās not over on the right.
tbh Iād never really taken much notice of mobility as a stat in general⦠outside of maybe dodge limit.
Also a bit peculiar that a stun batton has a lower sprint cost than a cleaver. wut?
Sprint Cost is modified by the Defenses stat, so the Power Maul gets a little boost there.
As to why itās modified by Defenses⦠probably so Push Cost doesnāt feel lonely as a property of Defenses?
What springs to mind at least:
- Indomitable adds +25% movespd for 5s
- Unstoppable Momentum adds +20% movespd for 2s on ranged kill, and some weapons like rippers make it really fast and easy to do without ADS while sprinting and sliding
- Get Stuck In adds +20% movespd on ult use for 4s. Since this is on the way to Bruiser (reduce ult CD on special+ kill), I and likely most others always take it.
- Many weapons like Shovels, Shield, Power Maul (iirc not sure) etc. have even double stamina consumption while sprinting. With those itās important to switch to your other weapon for sprints if you can.
- You already pointed out mobility stat, tho usually it has a miniscule impact as long as you donāt treat it as a full dump stat (and you really shouldnāt because of dodge #). About 99% of my weapons on any class have over ~50% mobility, depending on the weapon. And over 50% ofc in practice means not 50% but maybe 60-70% on average.
Since about all of those stack, and since curios can add sprint efficiency and/or stamina recovery, you can reach pretty comfy speeds as an oggy depending on circumstances.
Agreed yes!
I moved from Heavy Hitter to Feel No Pain about 2 months back. I noticed that losing the smallish dmg & attackspd buff from HH and the talents on the way there made very little difference, when compared to the perks of FNP.
Shield & FNP and the talents on the way there let you play ultra aggressively while adding like 20x more survivability. Youāll get dmg buffs on getting hit and can literally choose to get hit all the time bc of all the tankiness, and can often just ignore dodging and blocking where HH could not, so in practice it feels just as offensive if not even more so all without the restrictions HH has.
But the cherry on top are No Pushover (blocking reduces push cost by 20%) and Strongest (pushing restores a stack of FNP)! So youāll naturally be pushing and CC:ing trash all over the place keeping them focused on you between all the heavy melees, while recharging Loyal Protector (due to Just Getting Started) all the time! This is by far my favorite oggy build.
Knives, few other weapons have stats which at least limit stamina sprint costs. Also as with any other class you can slide when you have to. Ogryn does feel a bit like driving a truck after I switch from my psyker or some zealot builds. You gotta hate Ogrynās tiny dodges.
Ogryn actually has the largest dodge distance, its obfuscated by your higher position.
Psyker dodges 2 darktide meters, Veteran and Zealot move 2.5 and Ogryn moves 3.0. This is why his weapons all have -dodge distance. If you want to see just how mobile he actually is dodge with your blitz action or an equipment slot item equipped, those do not have -dodge distance and Ogryn gracefully prances like a gazelle.
Was there suppose to be text there?
Well all you need is charge ability. I use Ripper, Rock and Club.
And dont over think Ogryn, stats dont mean anything. Its about positioning.
