Ogryn doesn't feel up to par with other classes

For the record, one of the nodes that claims to give “Toughness Replenishment” actually affects toughness_replenish_modifier and works as expected. Wether it’s intentional or not, some skills with Toughness Replenishment give toughness replenishment and other skills with Toughness Replenishment give coherency regen instead. So the actual toughness replenish modifier exists, and it works on all sources of toughness replenished from talents, and is used for one such talent. That’s what makes it’s extra confusing as to what is actually intended.
The way I see it, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to stack coherency regen onto a melee tank tree since that is disabled while in melee range, so that’s why I think it might be a miscommunication somewhere.

Yeah that sounds like a bug/error/mistake by the designers imo.

Surely coherency shouldn’t be relevant if enemies in melee range cancel the effect…that essentially makes it pointless.

I’ve often found my toughness not regening as much as I’m expecting when heavy swinging enemies. I’m likely misunderstanding some of the above mentioned issues.

Hey @junkoito , would we be right in saying you’re new to DT (from the account created date) ?

I also came from VT2. I started with the Ogryn because I’d favoured Bardin, and mained either the IB or the Shade. By any chance did you hope it’d be like IB? Then yeah, that’s not the best character to start with.

Think closest to Bardin (ironically) is the Zealot; heavily melee, with easy recharge health. You can wade in to big battles quickly and easily and toughness regen comes thick and fast. DT Zealot is almost a mix of Saltz (Zealot) and Bardin… aka easy mode :stuck_out_tongue: There, said it.

On the Ogryn front. I despise having to do heavy hits to recharge; but you can build it so that you can mix the two, and lights keep your heavy stacks going (Brutish Momentum, bottom left of tree). If you just want something uncomplicated to play with, then the Mark 3b bully club and the Kickback will get you in the game. I’d personally build down the left, but YMMV.

What’s more, Zealot can also be like Shade, but without a trade off. Shade was (is?) a glass canon.

Didn’t come with expectations, but my best class in vt2 was Footknight Kruber. Using the mace and shield and just slapping everything that moves onto the ground for the team to kill.

I thought a huge ball of muscle, steel and fury would be similar, with more trampling over small enemies because of sheer girth but uh, they’re not ;w;

Nope :frowning:
Like … if you’ve played Superliminal? Looks enormous at a distance, but actually just a pretty regular sized guy when dropped in up close.

Well, kind of. That modifier is kind of the opposite to the coherency regen toughness ones in that it boosts basically all toughness gen besides coherency. It’s pretty counter intuitive that it excludes coherency regen, but realistically that’s the least useful kind so ain’t nobody gonna complain about that.
