He’s ogryn irl probably
Not sure about the other items you mentioned but this is a great idea. A talent adjustment that rewards melee combat with ammo would be a great way to push vets towards using melee more often instead of just dumping magazines into trash hordes.
its a joke dude
Base Toughness is up from 50 to 80 to compensate.
What do you mean?
Incorrect; the stat is Weakspot Strength, not Weakspot Damage. It provides you with +10% Strength (Damage, Cleave, Impact) when your attack hits a Weakspot, which is calculated over the entirety of your damage, not the Weakspot bonus.
On top of being able to replenish Toughness with Light Attacks that you weave into your combos (or just spam, totally viable with this tree and weapons like the Bull Butcher), you can get +65% Toughness Replenishment (for all sources) with Stay Close + Feel No Pain + Toughest, which have been changed away from just Toughness Regeneration (+Coherency regen only). This does make it necessary to lower the base numbers on some of the Replenishment stuff.
This new tree also makes Ogryn much stronger in many other ways, while the high amount of Toughness Replenishment per Heavy attack was previously one of the only real standout powerful things.
I kinda want to add to this, Ogryn still has some really good toughness blessings for weapons. With the added talents for more damage and the Great Cleaver keystone modifier for Heavy Hitter, you might just be better served with adding a blessing to shore up the lack of toughness gain from Smash 'Em and The Best Defense if you are not running Feel No Pain and Stay Close! aura.
Thank you!
Still digesting notes and nodes (and missing sleep), but IDK about nerfing stuff to add a bunch of other nodes (maybe tax) to get to the same previous level.
Nerfs happened where needed to address Newgryn vastly exceeding his previous level beyond an intended point, not to tax him back to the same place.
i dont care about nerfs because i will find the nodes i want to use regardless. What i care about is a noisy node map forcing me to pick a lane and stay inside of it, because that defeats the purpose of having a node map
Do you know if the initial attack that procs Can’t Hit Me… Again is affected by the damage reduction, such in the case of unforeseen sniper shots? And when they mean explosives with Fire Away talent, do they mean ALL explosion such as Bombs Away! blitz and special actions on Grenade Gauntlet and Power Maul?
I want it. Really holding out hope that all melee talents properly affect the GG’s damage and attack speed.
And also want having two dot sources and rending not be a meme (but it probably is haha)
I’m ogryn irl too
Not 100% sure about the first point. Second point, Fire Away does interact with every explosion including Bombs Away!, but the Power Maul Special Action is excluded if I recall correctly.
It’s very good on the GG’s ranged shots too because those explosions have a surprisingly large 5m radius.
i smell a nice krourk VI knife and GG combo giving us a sustainable yet fast paced pickaxe alternative
Alright, guess we’ll find out soon™
Poor Paul can’t catch a break! but also, might be for the best.
How well does the Grenade Gauntlet handle melee with more heavily armoured enemies in the upcoming changes? Kinda looking forward to trying out Cleavers again and having a good ranged weapon to use against carapace.
I just noticed Lynchpin is untouched? F tier talent for sure.
I suggest doing a similar thing for Lynchpin as you’ve done for Stay Close, but without actually copying and pasting the same thing.
Maybe have Lynchpin give a flat +40 toughness, but if you’re not in coherency with at least 1 ally a -25 toughness debuff activates, effectively making Lynchpin into a normal +15 toughness node until you get back into coherency.
I think this would be a pretty interesting talent with a downside if you wander off. Would also give people incentive to take Towering Presence for once since that would combo well with Lynchpin.
Also I’d say to swap Furious and Lynchpins positions on the talent tree, but isn’t entirely needed if my changes were implemented since Lynchpin would be pretty good and not feel like a useless tax node if you wanted to get furious anymore.
