the next weapon vet should get should be a boltpistol and perhaps give it to zealot while taking away the real bolter from zealot like how the vet only gets the cadia chainsword especially since a boltpistol ideally would be far more ammo economic than the bolter making it so zealots can have that good long range high dmg they need to deal with snipers and shooters still but without needing to chug literally every ammo container on the map even tho killing elites with the vet would earn them back their ammo…
The stub revolver is more or less the equivalent of a bolt pistol and fulfills the role you are describing (it has been buffed last patch btw)
ehh true but a proper boltpistol that is faster to reload and perhaps more powerful at the cost of some stability is what i mean kinda more like a heavier laspistol in terms of game function.
Next weapon should be the Melta. Much more interesting than a Boltpistol.
Also, there is no reason lorewise/Theme wise to take the Bolter away from the Zealot
fair but gameplaywise there isnt much you can do dmg wise to make the normal bolter better so giving it to zealot kinda gives them a bit too much power especially since they already got the thunder hammer and flamer
Bolter isn’t even the meta for the Zealot, like it lack a bit in the ammo department.
But exclusivity/weapon share should be done on Lore and themes only, and Zealots would use a Bolter.
A Power Sword for example could work on the Zealot, but not the Preacher

fair but the main reason any zealot and currently of course only the preacher would ever pull out their ranged weapon is one of 2 reasons, either A) their ranged weapon primarily deals with long range enemies like shooters and snipers for them or B) they want to horde clear with both options TEEEECCCHNICALLY could also go for option C) where they want to kill a boss, but tbf every zealot is either gonna be using the eviserator or thunder hammer and those things SHRED bosses meaning that last option doesnt really matter aside from the fact that with the bolter if you ADS, you get option A) and if you hipfire than you get arguably one of the best option B)'s in the game AND on top of that it also counts for option C) on both veteran AND zealot… beyond that its 2 weaknesses arent really bad at all ESPECIALLY for zealot since by and large you shouldnt be using your ranged option too much meaning you wont be loosing much ammo often so small boxes every now and than guarantees you will never have issues with ammo let alone if you have a vet in the group meaning you will passively regenerate ammo on elite kills which especially with a thunder hammer or eviserator, zelaots do A LOT. beyond that once you learn how to aim with the bolters sway while ADSing, it isnt hard and any noob can ADS hipfire it since it juts has to be pointed at a horde and honestly faced near their feet so the recoil blasts it up to heads if your bad at controling it somehow.

But there are other weapon that let them cover quite a lot of their weaknesses, and Bolter lack in the ammo department when not used by a Veteran.

did ya miss the part where i mentioned why the ammo issue isnt and hell for me who likes playing herece minimum and damnation with friends, has literally NEVER been an issue? like a good zealot only pulls out their bolter to deal with crowds that are about to merc either you and teamates near your or a teammate your too far from to clear for them and save their ass, snipers, or bosses when you cant get close enough to smack em with your thunder hammer… like there is seriously no cons for a zealot using a bolter and it truly is too powerful with the closest things to it being the flamer and revolver after the buffs both lacking eachothers benefit where the flamer can horde clear with the best of them but cant even kill bosses let alone snipers and the revy likewise cant do enough dmg on a zealot for boss killing and IN NO WAY can handle hordes only being able to pick off key snipers or shooters before they break your toughness or drop ya all together.
It’s slow to pull out, like unless you play a secure Zealot, where you’re better off taking the Flamer or a Brauto/Autopistol, you wouldn’t use it.
Like i’m always near enemies, I don’t have time to pull out the Bolter, while the Rev, Autopistol, or even Shotgun can work quite well for what I need them to.
There is absolutely no reason to take the Bolter away from the Preacher
Veterans have always lot of good weapons
Boltpistol should be zealot for sure. Maybe veteran. But sure, not veteran exclusive.
Vet should have a priority to the Bolt pistol over the Zealot, not the other way around
