I think that Fatshark needs a plan on how they are going to handle content in the future before they roll anything new out. As it stands, we can’t even play the new high-Octane quick map that was rolled out not even a month ago because its buried in ‘the rotation’.
I don’t want to hear about any ‘new’ content until they can enable the community to consistently play and enjoy it a mere 2 weeks after its implemented. Beyond ridiculous that they find new ways to anger the playerbase in what would otherwise be a great update.
Since it seem to be a nee Terminal, we can think that it’ll be a way to have a new “mission” board, either fully separating the Assignment from the main one, or introducing a new mode outright.
Bow I don’t think Chaos Waste is gonna happen any time soon, so it’s most likely not gonna be that one just yet, but there could be a Survival mode, like Vt1 and 2 had (Fortune of War being the last one)
Do note that it’s quite possible that it’s not used in the next update and is for later ones.
We do know though that there is 1 update still left for this year, which mean that it’ll be for the Anniversary most likely.
Last year we got the Traitor Curse:
2 Missions set in a new sector
1st Assignment
New weapon Marks (ideally now the they’ve fixed crafting they might be “freeer” to release weapons)
Stimms mechanics
And possibly some other stuff I don’t exactly remember.
Also do be careful with Class talk, archetype have never really been mentioned since launch, and very rarely even before.
1.) Commissary is getting some attention - Or any kind of resource sink
2.) New maps are always welcome.
3.) Jesper Kyd to provide endless new tracks - He is a genius and I spam the OST in my everyday life.
4.) Events - I am hopeful that the events we have been getting lately become a regular thing. They add another layer of satisfaction/progress between missions. Bonus points in the future if they could get a little more creative and add a mystique that we are contributing to the cause/the Mourningstar in some way I imagine.
5.) I would lose my mind if a new class was introduced. - this is just my list of wishful thinking
6.) Alternate game mode - I love Darktide. Do you understand me? I want to live on the Mourningstar so an added game mode would keep me there longer. I WANT to avoid my daily responsibilities (j/k…sorta)
7.) Again, make me want to hang out aboard the Mourningstar - Its okay as is, I like listening to the random chatter, but are there ideas for making it more, I dunno, cozy? I know this is a very abstract idea, but I want it to be a place I’d be fine spending hours in. - Hugely abstract idea, I know.
8.) Lastly, and I know it wont ever happen; remove the private game requirement for “those” two penances.
In the grim darkness of the far future coziness seems like it’d be a stretch ;p I think they could incorporate something like a cantina on Mourningstar for some atmosphere of where operatives hang out in between missions
Oooh I just made a thread earlier today about an arena survival mode in the meatgrinder…maybe I’ll get my wish! The placement of the WIP construction does suggest something mission/selection based but who knows.
It’s a lose-lose situation. But perhaps this new area will remedy it by placing maps like Rolling Steel in its own mission board, or otherwise alleviate the woes folks have with mission selection in general. One can hope.
So hyped to see what’s the last update of this year. The last anniversary update was pretty good.
I just can’t shut about the last update we have left in my friend’s circle.
I have faith they will deliver a satisfying result.
Oh and yeah, the class talk has never ever been mentionned in any dev log nor official statement but… since they did end up listening to the community on quality of life regarding crafting, i think community driven additions are not entirely off the table.
There isn’t much hope but i love to keep the hype alive in case they consider the idea someday. It would after all be quite a cool addition.

And maybe an update after which is the new boss fight they have teased a mutated rinda in one of the comm posts. And we had an event where she’s showed back up to harry players during missions like we had with the twins before we got their boss fight.
They talked about Operations like they are going to be their own thing. I think she will be the one giving those once there are more than one of them. Otherwise they will really clutter up the main mission board.
From what we seen in the “gaming industry” is now where fans/supporters/etc expect a “calendar” or “forecast” exposé of a developers ‘developments’ in progress. The situation I think we see is that FS has much of the “irons in the fire” yet only some things get actually released
The other “irons in the fire” usually end up being further developed, scrapped, or reworked
Much of FS dev team keep things under wraps so that upon release its “what you see is what you get” until further patching development occurs. Much of this I believe is due to so many projects to work on for Darktide to where we get what we get when things are finally deemed “able to be released”‐worthy
We have seen some “events” from introduced to now become more sufficient if not satisfying, Unlocked and Loaded has made leaps in gameplay as well as QoL matters
My own expectations/speculations for Darktide (especially by Xmas and in 2025) is where we see further development offering more new mission maps, weapons, and (maybe) a unique new class Archetype (especially for those expectations of a AdMech operative)
I bet its gonna be an area where you can queue up for operations more mini train like missions.
i bet the next update is gonna have 1-2 operations and one big mission where you rescue brunt and he comes back to rework the docket shop.
