New weapon MIA?

Ya’ll can theorize how they structure their internal business hierarchy to your little hearts’ content. The only thing that actually matters is what they produce for the customer, which, for me has been fail concept after fail concept instead of weapon/map after weapon/map.

I guarantee Havoc and Mortis have gotten more people playing for more hours than any new map or weapon would have (also we got 3 new weapons and a new map alongside Havoc).

Cope

How? Havoc came with 3 weapons, 1 map and a different mode that people are clearly still playing (love it or hate it, there are posts daily about it) with pretty cool cosmetic rewards. Player counts are solid. All is fine. The content release schedule is quarterly. If that’s not enough for you, maybe get a hobby?

“for me” is key here

Yeah I noticed that lack of context as well, not really worth replying to.

Interestingly, I checked the Steam charts for the last year for DT. Although Havoc patch did see the largest return of concurrent players, it also suffered a much deeper drop-off with the average player count at the valley after Havoc being ~2,000 less players than the valley directly after the previous big patch.

Havoc does not seem to be retaining players empirically any better than the past weapon/map patches. In fact it could be worse until we see the next big patch release to verify.

Turns out gamers are a wide range of different people, go figure. Tons of people wanted a harder mode, and they got it. But this dude also got 3 weapons and a map, so yea.

You’re right, I was being too harsh.

Mortis Trials at least has potential to be a good Killing Floor mode, and I don’t think its addition is doing much damage.

You are completely correct, but I wish we got the new weapon along with Mortis Trials (Plasma Pistol please), but it is what it is.

Dune: Awakening beta testing begins for me tomorrow!

Man I hope Dune is good…have many fond memories of Conan Exiles (jank and junk and all).

I’m very certain it’ll be great, but it’s Funcom, so I’m expecting jank.

For me, Funcom’s strength has always been their willingness to try out new ideas, even if they do not always succeed in making those systems work together properly.

But I’m a simple man who loves Dune and Funcom, and the beta goes from tomorrow until Monday, so I’ll have plenty of time to try out the game, which I preordered a few weeks ago.

I just finished rewatching Dune (1984), Dune (2000 - my favorite version), Children of Dune, Dune 1+2, and Dune: Prophecy (season 1).

And the books are pretty good too.
