New nurgle enemies

Forgot about that one, still there is no need to divert a thread just because you want to have everyone complaint at all time

i’d love the idea of having mid tier nurgle enemies added as cannon fodder amidst hordes, or said horde consisting of those more afflicted.

though i think the plague marine would be a bit much, so far the overall mechanic being a final boss with horde spawn and specials as fluff.

taking the fluff from the encounter would feel “off”, yet big canned-cucumber boy going ham on you with additional help might sway the fine line of disbelief into jumping a nurgle shark.

so far for me, as a total warhammer newcomer, chaos god vibes(nurgle in this case) works best as a mood setting, theme to get design go along, rather than the proverbial crap already hit the fan “exterminatus” or send a whole chapter of space marines to get the job done.
maybe… somehow…moah troooops, ah kark it “exterminatus”

so maybe a nurgle bell herald just vanishing around the corner, right before the nurglings pop from airvents and small openings and a few minutes later, knee deep in heretic guts half a dozen plague bearers instead of crushers, maulers etc.

if there was a new open sky map or something with a longer distance view, you got go with a giant “definately-not-chuthulu” entity/roaming shadow and giant horde movement far far away, so it wouldnt be a rejects problem to deal with.

More enemy variety would definitely go a long way. There’s a quite a lot from the Nurgle Roster and Chaos Undivided roster that could make it’s way in.

The Plague Marine and the Plague Bearers would make for good boss fights, I don’t think they should be standard enemies.

A Herald would make a cool boss, justifies the hordes, because to be honest, the adds in the Twins boss fight were more dangerous than the Twins themselves overall.

I would really love if they added a Plague Marine that we could kill. I don’t care if the lore says they’re Untouchable Space Gods, we’re not pushovers ourselves.

Plaguebearers were something I really just expected the game to have. Though I’m not sure what they’d do. I think there could be a place for a level of enemy between the Crushers and Monsters. Like an enemy commander who is like an assassination target but with less health and a shield that doesn’t recover, along with a Plaguebearer . . .

Nurglings even exist as an asset! Fatshark had them appear in some Vermintide 2 events, but they don’t do anything but run around and you squish them.

I recall a cut enemy from Left 4 Dead was another survivor who had been zombified. Makes me think that seeing some Rejects who have joined the enemy would kind of make sense. Imagine them sliding around all over the place like headless chickens the way players do lol.

All that said, FS is probably never going to add any new enemies. If they were, though, they should add them in a temporary event to let us try them out and see our reactions. Then they can tweak them more before adding them into the full game. Lots of chance to test and stuff, ya know? Hint, hint.

Compared to what we face a CSM isn’t that big of a deal

Pretty sure it’s on the bucket list, there is even unreleased stuff in the game files already.

I can just pretend that Sefoni is the one doing it and I will die a happy woman

Agreed. If we can take down Beasts of Nurgle, Chaos Spawns, Daemonhosts and Plague Ogryns… a young and unnamed Chaos Space Marine is not too much of a stretch.

Call him Stevie Slimefirst or Patrick Pooplord.

But then he’s named and thus we can’t defeat him :sob:

All the captains in the kill missions have random names too, so that shouldn’t be the problem.

I vote for “Urgbard the Licker”.

Those are fairly standard Traitoris Militarum Captains with randomized names.

We are talking moreso about not being able to fight named Chaos Space Marines, as in the legendary ones who have likely been honing their abilities over hundreds (if not thousands) of years

It should work like Mr. X does in the Resident Evil remake. A mission modifier that causes a slowly moving, terrifying, invincible entity of death to approach you. You could explain it as the Plague Marine being a sadist and relishing in the track before the kill.

Why am I reminded of Amnesia: The Dark Descent?

Ah nurglings, Devious little ankle biters and bringers of corruption. They’ed make a nice distraction and annoyence around demonic monsters.

In the spears of the emperor novel, two human serfs were able to take down a chaos marine.

they very nearly died but what makes it possible is access to weapons that will take them down. that did vile thing down quick.
Space marines hit much harder and move comicly faster even in armor. So my educated reasoning stands they’ed be a high difficulty spawn that can and will mess up an unprepaired party.
But careful play and the right tools they could take it down.

Of course being a plague marine it would have ugly resiliance to damage, at the cost of the usual comical speed.

Space marines, as tough as they are, are much like spartans, better equipped yes, but so are most of the horrible things in the galaxy.
A well placed krak grenade or plasma shot will bring it down. the only issue is they have better reaction time than us. So the chaos of battle will have to be our biggest weapon.
Alongside the fact an ogryn is a great tool to mess up a space marine.

I picture them being high value targets, the kind you either avoid like the grim reaper or go after with a plan.
Because realisticly they could kill us just as easily a well armed crew could kill them.

the first one is possible as they exist in VT2 during a holiday event.
