So with the last patch the old MK IV Chainsword got a new heavy strikedown that chains exclusively after light 1. This added attack ruined this weapon for me, as it constantly happens at random during fast gameplay in a horde. It doesn’t need it to begin with and should be reverted.
The cool thing about this weapon was that it’s good against single targets with lights and with heavy against horde, not this random attack pattern nonsense. I could understand it after the push-follow stab to have the heavy strikedown but even there I’d prefer the horde cleave.
I played this weapon since day one and now it feels bad imo.
Hopefully in the future chainweapons can get the heat meter weapon treatment and give the activation block property & continue the chain rather than resetting.
Having 2 sweep heavies to combo into each other is like the only reason to use it over 13g. Especially since that thing can do combo into it’s cleaving heavy so easy now.
But this move has always a question mark to me because its one of the only weapons in the game with ‘assassin/strikedown’ lights that don’t hit carapace. So you do a combo where you have to burn attacks that do nothing to reach one that does? It still makes more sense to spam heavies after catching them with a push stab. No biffed hit every other swing. Feels very pointless in game.
