I agree, but I think they do a decent enough job of showing that these locations are beyond the frontlines, what with us waking past entrenched soldiers and all. Doesn’t seem totally crazy that we could be retaking these places, or just running ops behind enemy lines.
It’s not crazy at all, but doing it again and again and again and again at the exact same places is.
Yea! I think reworking missions to focus less on identical places would work really well in a Chaos Wastes meets DRG/HD2 type setup.
I honestly wouldn’t have known we were behind the frontlines without the info discussed on the forums.
Specifcally with nurgle’s rot, it would be nice to see the overgrowth or fluctuation of growth during those specific missions.
Having the narrative focus on these asepcts would make going back into the area’s exciting.
Yup, I would even venture to go as far as showing areas during the mission that other teams wiped. Imagine having to walk through the defeat screen of another team with a comment of praise for making it farther than the other rejects who failed the Emperor.
The same Beast of Nurgle or Plague Ogryn breaking out of the same wall is a Koolaid meme at this point.
Love this idea. There’s tons of potential here! And, even with my dream roguelike mode aside, the general approach towards levels seems to be one of continual improvement, which could include new flavor like this without massive investment.
I just remembered that Swagger tells Rannick that Rannick doesn’t have the clearance for some of the info Swagger has, and Rannick just accepts it, no pulling the authority and majesty of the Inquisition or anything.
Maybe it’s actually 3 Harlequins in a holo-field.
After looking at all the eye colors of the current cast, I think its safe to say Swagger is just a Wyrmwood agent for the Inquisitor.
I think he’s reddit
That was the original intent, too, no? Tilesets + a DRG mission selector? Yet another overly ambitious attempt which failed and had to be duct-taped together?
I don’t think I’ve seen anything to suggest there’s a missing randomization component contributing to any design decisions with the mission board. Would be interested to read any links you’ve got on that though!
When i first saw the image of him in the map announcement, i immediately thought he’s either a servant of Nurgle or a gene stealer cultist, luring us into a trap.
But having played the new map, seems like he’s just some opportunistic criminal from Atoma.
Shame.
The biggest factor for me to believe he is with the inquisition, and not an opportunistic thug, is the fact there is a servo skull following him during his vox message.
Although I’m not too big on Imperial lore, is it more common for a skull to follow people around like dogs?
I would think the skull means a machine cultist is in his company, or part of a larger organization i.e. with Grendyl.
I really hope its not some gung-ho, captain malcolm reynolds type just trying to make deals. But it could be the groundwork for a sequel…who knows…
Who in the kraken universe thought Swagger was a good name…
I dont know if it was mentioned on here or not, but he also seems to know Grendyl and he knows Rannick’s full name. Just throwing that into the mix
