This event will start on Monday, June 23. The rewards will be Ordo dockets, Plasteel and Diamantine. Those who complete the last tier of the event will receive a cosmetic portrait frame.
Can someone at FS please explain the thought process behind introducing Aquilas into events and not having them be the standard final tier reward going forward? This is absurd!
They do events every month now. If they gave out 500 Aquilas every month, thatâd be like paying everyone $30 a year to play their game. I just donât know if that makes sense, and I wouldnât be surprised if theyâve calculated that it does not.
That being said. I do hope weâll get Aquila rewards more regularly in the future.
Counterpoint: HD2 has Super Credits, farmed at around 20-30 a mission, so about 1 a minute/60 an hour. Thatâs without the whole âgo farm trivial difficulty missionsâ thing that people do and is based off my personal gameplay.
Roughly five or six hours of gameplay would buy you enough Super Credits to buy a skin. Fifteen or twenty would probably get you enough for a warbond.
Judging from Damnation Skulls missions, youâd need about 20-30 missions in DT to getâŚ500 Aquilas. So about fifteen or twenty hours of gameplay, once a month, for 1/5th of a skin.
Yeah, no, Fatshark wouldnât go bankrupt if they did this. If anything it would probably increase sales among the impatient.
I donât think it took 20 missions to get the skulls rewards, but thatâs beside the point.
The real point is that I donât know anything about FSâs finances, overhead, debt, targets, nothing. And neither do you.
If they thought theyâd benefit from giving out more free stuff, theyâd do it. HD2 is making it work, so maybe FS could too. But I donât know, and as long as we keep getting free maps/weapons/modes Iâm mostly fine (except for the FOMO) with them continuing with their normal operating procedure if thatâs what they need to do to keep the free updates coming.
Yea Iâd like to know what to expect too! I asked about it in the new event thread.
I would have thought theyâd do aquila events with the seasonal updates, which makes a lot of sense to me. I think itâs possible that they didnât do it for this one because they didnât want people to think they were a permanent addition to events. Weâll see! Hopefully weâll at least get a nod that weâll see more than one aquila event a year (or ever!).
I think that if they have the data showing the difference in player interest between this event and the last one, this inevitable faliure will lock in aquillaâs as an event reward forever when fs puts 2 and 2 together to realise aquilaâs are the real reason we bothered with the last event
