Love the game, love pretty much everything about it, but even a fun grind, gets less fun when i am too familiar with it, even a new weapon would be enough now.
We need new stuff, events maybe? Idk Halloween is coming so put some pumpkins in the lobby, make a temporary game mode with horror elements in it, have all heretics pumpkin heads, there is tons of stuff you can add to Darktide to make it more lifely and fresh.
Make new stuff, it will keep many players from leaving.
please don´t,
if there´s an immersive 40k counterpart, by all means sacrifice that flying little baby-creatures or torment a servitor with incense.
but for all that´s holy in the emperor, 40k is this one “unpoluted” world i feel right at home without any easter, christmas or any else plastic advertising figure to remind you
place dissection tables in new areas where hadron´s merry bunch study nurgle monstrosities, but i havent see a plant on atoma, let alone “pumpkins”
that affects gameplay in a meaningful way, aka more enemies etc, i´m all for it.
but people wearing the current holiday slapstick leave either way.
yes, truly terrifying…
I am all for a halloween event, but only a serious one not comedy relief.
Dont get me wrong, i love halloween comedy stuff but if theres one universe that should never touch that stuff then its 40k.
This would be the perfect time for “lights out” modifier getting a rework. To make it proper not half-assed like it is now.
Give us throwable flare pickups, to be ignited and thrown into key positions during periods of darkness.
Have randomised periods of darkness rather than constant darkness, leading to greatly increased desperation, horror and shock among players when the lights suddenly go out.
Remove flashlight attachments from weapons and give said flashlights to the players themselves, because the current system puts Ogryns at a MASSIVE disadvantage to their puny friends in Lights Out.
Post Scriptum: It IS worthwhile to note that Fatshark experimented with Suggestion #2 early on and faced technical issues with the lighting, apparently.
I hate you and all other people who want this crap injected in the games.
Instead of spending limited resources for the actual content that will benefit the game in the long run and add more immersion, we “really” need “seasonal content” like pumpkin heads, Christmas trees, bunny ears, Chinese dragons, Hawaiian shirts and other garbage for people who enjoy the samey-same slop, no matter which game it is.
Honestly I think that DT shouldn’t have a Halloween, but rather focus on Christmas events (With VT2 doing the inverse, Geheimnistag, and the smaller Wolf Father gift) with the Sanguinalla/Candelmass
Have the maps have Candles that have to be set alight to progress over the event and bring the cheerful spirit to the survivors.
And have the Mourningstar have some big Candle progression depending on the global event progress
I think you guys are playing a different game than i do.
Good events that take effort to make? Please.
However, to this day i have fond memories of playing V2’s map “A Quiet Drink” for the first couple of times. Man, the voice actors must have had fun recording those lines.
“Queen Kerillian demands an ale!”
