Needle Pistol is as degenerate as Inferno Staff

I did say it a few days after Scum released, Pickpocket was gonna be a problem if it wasn’t changed

Now literally every Scum in H40, unless they’re using Desperado, is garanteed to be using needle and shooting at everything from a safe range with infinite ammo letting DoT do everything

I’ll even say it’s even easier to use than Inferno staff with near same results

Fatshark, you really need to address Pickpocket + Needle, You can make it so Pickpocket requires either a melee kill or doesn’t apply on DoT, whatever it is this needs to change

or the needles simply go plink, plink on carapace and bosses. oh zey do nothing!

Just make Pickpocket work only with 0 ammo.

Lorewise needlers shoot with invisible spectre laser first than the toxin crystal. So anti armor damage profile should be closer to las pistol. Like you can make an exception for weakspot as a reward for aim (can imagine eyelenses hit who cares).

Overall toxins being just another dot is lame. Something like TT should be inbuild unique toxin debuff, with numbers adjustments like you need to stack, each stack applies -2% or smth, or just some different debuff, but still.

I instinctively thought, “ouch, that must hurt”. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

it’s almost as if they made the character with solo-mode in mind that’s never to come

Like a pub in the middle of a desert: it’s very unlikely that anyone comes around, but if it happens, they are ready.

Fun fact: my girlfriend made a clay miniature of this shop for her art studies.

well that oddity is surely worth one :+1: :squinting_face_with_tongue:

now fun fact cause it’s not too long since I learned warhammer to be a “british” thing (yeah I know, tourist me), had a rifle shooting contest years back when on vacation.

when handing out protection goggles in case of ricochet, debris etc, the brit refused with the notion :”no thanks, I got two” pointing at his eyes

granted, it was vacation and people weren’t sober (though I didn’t drink and shoot, thought that’d be a bad mix) but the big boy wasn’t concerned with loosing and eye

dlc 3 will be an admech who brings the kill everything gun, which will be competitive in damage with psyker’s newest rework

Plink plink plink, another Crusher dead.

Just a little tickle and dead Crusher a few seconds later. Granted it still gives Crusher time to deal damage at medium-close range but boy is the Needle pistol great at assasinating Crushers from a longer distance. Don’t know about effectiveness against Rotten Armor though.

As another German (like you IIRC) who went to London for WH40k miniatures around 25 years ago when there weren’t any GW shops in our country, I scornfully raise an eyebrow at you. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

edit: Sorry to everyone else for the OT, going now. :innocent:

It’s an utterly disgusting weapon for sure, which clearly needs some nerfs. I mean you can literally shoot mixed hordes at their feet/kite them around & the dot will eat everything up & spread much better without you having the think.

But an awesome tip with the Needler… Put ‘Reload Speed’ & "Unyielding’ as the perks. You don’t need Carapace/Flak/Maniac, because the dot kills them at the same rate & number of shots regardless, so you’re not really hitting any major breakpoints there. Might as well put on Reload Speed instead. :+1:

Edit: Of course, perk damage does effect dots in this game, obviously. But for this specific weapon it doesn’t matter at all, like I’ve said; you’re hitting no breakpoints. The MK6 is where you just shoot crushers/maulers 5 times to end them & the MK2 is more unless you do actually have the Carapace damage. Just want to clarify.

I mean ironically here in hospital/quarantine there’s a literal “floor is lava” /dont touch anything without disinfecting first policy.

but cmon, ingame floor dots? really?

Jawoll :squinting_face_with_tongue:

though I wager a trip made today wouldn’t feel “as fun” and far more 40k-real life

was briefly on the brink of making a trip to the “museum”, place of worship so to speak, being a semi-bucket-list thing.

but since I still am rather “tourist” and need at least 1/12 posable figures than fixed miniatures, it’d be a quick runthrough with little to gain I expect.

if there was an adjacent mcfarlane store where I could bulk-buy say 100 at once and be cheaper off than ordering online i’d give it a go, but just for visual impressions without “loot” in my trunk…. nah.

and fresh out of chemo id say bucket-list #5 “friendly irish bar brawl” is ill advised by my medicus as well so there’s no worthy combo that warrants the trip

Needler blessings pool is also a joke.

Yeah first day the update dropped I realized that pickpocket was literally infinite ammo, and that the needle pistol applies 6 stacks of the new DoT per shot and it maxes out at 30 stacks… oh and its also just the strongest DoT in the game

I’ve been genuinely a little dumbfounded at how this was added to the game, and yet people still have been saying the class sucks needs buffs etc lmao

Thank you, going to try this. Needler even without Unyielding does good boss damage, this is going to be wild.

The one thing that “balances” Needler. Imagine Blaze Away or Deathspitter on Needler.
