I’m just here to say ranged common enemies shouldn’t stagger zealot out of their gap closer. Hopefully everyone can agree with that.
Except my ideas are to let the devs do their things. I havent proposed any changes at all im saying the devs are doing a good job balancing the game so im not sure what your going on about
For the sake of this game i hope your right. The difference between vermintide and this is that there is more players in darktide then vermintide has ever seen and thats what is worrying when i see the posts asking for gameplay changes.
This guy gets it.
Blatantly untrue, classes are in a really scuffed state right now with extremely limited actually decent build options with ranged trash mobs running rampant on Malice+ and Fatsharks response is silently nerfing melee durability?
Maybe try killing them instead of letting them run rampant?
having now leveled the multiple 30’s and all to at least 20
i feel pretty happy saying the zel is comparatively definitely in the low half , very little flexibility and strength in his feats compared to others.
theres a lacerate build that cheeses the uptime of one feat that does make him strong but lets be clear that is going to get nerfed in no time.
and imo having to rely on some outlier cheese is kind of proving the point.
This right here is I think the true issue on this class, besides the bugged feats and terrible balancing is the Chip damage, and the realization there’s…not really a viable way for such classes, like Ogryn and Zealot, to get their health back up! Ogryn’s solution is literally stockpile health and walk on eggshells, essentially CC enemies as much as they can while being peltered by range (which sadly just delete toughness in a blink of an eye on higher difficulties) and Zealot’s to use the grenade, but it’s only 3 shots before hoping to find another nade pack (or hope a veteran is on your team that went Demolition build, which is honestly absurd to be so reliant on another class to support your ability to CC).
Maybe the solution here is to give Zealot a kind of Life leech ability, or a curio that has a 1% HP regen per second possibility to give said melee classes some legup and be rewarded for playing smart while also helping?
What I want is for every talent/feat to be viable and to work with as many loadouts as possible. Right now there seems to be one true path that every zealot should take and diverting from that means you are crippling yourself and the team.
It’s clear a lot of people aren’t 100% happy with how Zealot plays, so of course, some gamer dude comes out and says that means you’re bad at the game.
The very title of this discussion reeks of someone desperate to use the poor state of the game as an opportunity to get an ego boost by saying, “Everything’s actually ok, it’s just you suck.” I can’t read through half of OP’s post without it sounding like they want some kind of recognition.
I’ve only played the Zealot in this beta and it’s hard to say anything about the balance of class since most of your power comes from your items regardless of your career. Nobody I’ve met has played enough to equip Veteran items in every slot for every class with great properties and traits. When there are enough people on a level playing field at level 30 with good Veteran equipment, then I might take some discussion about the “balance” of Zealot more seriously. Most of the criticism isn’t calling for a buff to Zealot, more of a rework.
There are better ways to make melee combat more challenging than bleedthrough, anyway. Increase enemy density, add more elites to hordes, give enemies more mass, increase stagger thresholds across the board… These are all solutions that would promote smart horde management without a counterintuitive subsystem. The OP should be familiar with all of these changes, actually, since it’s exactly what the DWONS mods do to VT2!
Indeed and thats a great idea to replace the bleedthrough and keep the challenge and it would be great if that was what they decided to do if they removed bleedthrough. Removing a mechanic that makes the game easier absolutely needs to be replaced by something that keeps equal challenges.
