Mortis Trial Indulgences

I just want to start off by saying that I think the mortis trials has great bones and I hope they continue to improve it! I think it’s a great way to get casuals and new comers to play the game and stick around.

That being said, I really hope that fatshark takes a look and addresses these 2 things.

First, we desperately need an auric difficulty. While this is great for casual and non-casual alike, it will definitely hold the causal attention more. It’s no secret that there’s a dedicated community of hardcore darktide players that help keep this game together and I’m sure they would love the chaotic difficulty increase this game has to offer. Also really strange choice considering they give you high difficulty options in chaos wastes.

Second, I think the indulgences need a lot of help. The indulgences are a key factor in the roguelike elements however they feel so one dimensional. Your options at the beginning are fire damage, electric damage or both (aka “melee buffs, gun buffs, melee and gun buffs”). After having played it 5 times, all the choices are feeling stale. Maybe we could have random loadouts with random perks and blessings, (but keep our skill tree) with the option to switch our weapons, maybe the weapons have mortis trial specific buffs.
Sidenote, I know they wanted to make something distinct from chaos wastes but atm idk how I feel about participating in an arena instead of going through a map.

Excited to see what fat shark makes in the future! Is there anything you wanted to see included? Anything you want changed or removed?

Agreed all around!

I also would like for the mode to offer shorter and longer experiences. 6 rounds starting off higher intensity, and an infinite mode.

The great thing about the mode is that they can go pretty crazy with it. Just add and add and add without a worry about balance.

I do like the aspect of it where the build/gear you bring in can have different synergies with the indulgences you choose. Lots of potential there.
