Plethora of info here. Do you know which mod allows you to customise your gear in such way?
I seriously wonder what’s the reason behind the stubborn absence of skin painter and such. I hope there is some serious reason besides profit and exploitation.
For the weapon customization, with stuff like mods, different stocks etc? I have no idea.
For skin painter it is purely, unabashedly greed. I don’t think there is a single good reason why you can’t customize weapon and cosmetic colors simply other than, “we want to sell them to you, and we want to sell the same cosmetic to you twice in a different color.”

It’s called the weapon customization mod and can only be found on the darktide modders discord for now as the author feels it’s not finished. There’s also extentions for the mod by others that let you put combine whatever weapon parts you want, like an ogyrn knife on a human dagger.
Either it wasn’t finished before release and other things took priority or GW’s didn’t okay it (I seem to remember FS saying cosmetics need GW approval, but I may be wrong on this) so it was just scrapped.

Well… I believe there isn’t.
As I said, my first MMO, Neocron had this. And it was in 2002.
So, I believe in 2023, such system is not hard to implement
Let’s add that someone works on a mod that allow to retexture anything you want (Drip it). I would prefer that we don’t rely on mods that will only change your appearance for you.

Dawn of War had an army painter, and it was glorious. However it didn’t try to sell you cosmetics. That’s why.
I wouldn’t want more weapon skins until they sort out the issue of them changing the weapon model completely.

They should have learned from deep rock galactic on this one. They did the same, and the next patch they made the skin and models apply to all weapons and armor independently. ALL.

Unfortunately it is this simple. Pure bloody greed. They didn’t implement a basic painter in Vermintide 2 (although they did gave it for free). They won’t give us painter on Darktide now.
However they could profit from something like skins painter. They could implement it as a reasonably priced dlc. Profit for both company and interested players.

Thanks for the info brother. I kinda hoped it could be found on the nexus mods. Well i will wait until the creator deems it ready for nexus release. It’s such a great idea and its implementation should be an official thing. These devs are totally blind.
That’s exactly the game title that comes in mind when i think about skins painter. This could be so easy and oh boi what a charm! Being able to fully customise the colour of our skins. Both freemium and premium.
I guess that’s never gonna happen …
