Mission Board and Auric Changes

Well, that is the point of this Topic - to increase discussion and let players make their points.

Tbh, I prefer a solo game mode to that.
And I am serious… I am seriously tired of meeting guys who always run… I just want to play the game the way I want.
I’m not saying that I never meet excellent players… but the times I get a good team are really rare.

I don’t say I am satisfied with the mission board… I just point what I want the most.

I agree, if it were up to me solo mode would be in the game for all missions on the Terminal including Auric with all adjustable modifiers I listed out, available in the mission menu.

Unfortunately I don’t believe that to be likely because Fatshark hosts the servers.

If they did implement a fully customizable solo mode and said players need to pay their share of the monthly cost of maintaining the servers, I would even consider doing that - IF all the modifiers I wanted were available and bots weren’t complete trash.

Bots are trash cause they use catachan sword and headhunter, worst weapons of the game. You know what? I have met a zealot that was using catachan sword… well he did a lot less damages than others. And must say, I was not suprised…

If we could use our own characters as bots, and so choose their talents, they can be decent. The problem is that they cannot aim, cannot use blitz, cannot use ability and cannot use heavy melee hits.
But if you choose their weapons, Combat axe is per example perfect (rashad or antax) and a boltgun or revolver (so OP weapons), they can be totally decent.
When I tested, they could record close to the damages I did (but I was not with an OP weapon).

chat I’m not reading a suggestion thread that unironically suggests “remove haz 1 and haz 2 from the mission board and make new players play Mortis Trials first” and you shouldn’t either

For many reasons stated throughout the thread I agree that the lower level missions have a place and should not be removed or hidden. New players need a safe entry to ramp up from.

The view by some that I don’t think they should exist or be easily accessible because I’m well beyond that stage, and have forgotten my own progression from day one, is myopic at best.

Theyre barely populated because the difficulties very obviously arent intended for anyone to be in them long. But that being said those difficulties are great for grimoire penances and even scripture penances they do have a few uses at the end of the day theyre far from pointless.

That’s an odd thing to say considering you lack an audience to begin with.

Perhaps close your eyes and tap your heels 3 times, maybe your Twitch chat will appear

no one said anything about ignore
i was trying to point out these forums tend to foster a very skewed impression of who plays dark tide and odds are your suggestions are to cut out a very wide section of the player base out of the base game entirely just so the small upper end can have more options.

:man_facepalming:

The analogy doesn’t track. you’re not asking a professional, the top few % players are not game designers, its like saying i want to build a plane ill ask the best pilots, i want to know how to build a rocket ill talk to an astronaut.

I’m not saying discount anyone’s experience, it all matters. Just the top few % matter a bit less than they tend to think, and everyone needs to be catered for if you want new players to come through and the game to last past a week.

thats literally what engineers do when planes get shot down or dont perform like the enemies. take their combat experienced pilots into account in comparison to what? a pilot of german airways?

you think they value theories of ground personal higher than the actual astronaut having a hard time flushing a :poop: in zero gravity?

there’s a difference between experience and opinions.

i have strong opinions about fighting but keep em to myself cause my experience in actually knocking out people consistently in a real fight are minimal at best.

meanwhile my best buddy has no problems knocking me out sparring cause he has the experience to do so… and 20kg more mass

when i wanted to learn about knife fighting i literally had the good luck to be able to train with a former foreign legionnaire, that had confirmed live combat experience.
and he would have gutted me like a turkey.

2 months later i chased an aikido dude with 30 years under his belt across the room and could have made a filet off him :man_shrugging:

games stable for 2+ years and i rather have <7k good proficient people filling lobbies than 100k tourist jumping in from patch to patch, btch and moan and hop onto the “next game”

i dont “play” darktide, i try to be as close to perfect as possible in this one game i come to love since the age of quake in 1996.

everyone has the chance to be the top%, not everyone has the drive to do so.

thats ok.

but compared to those putting in 1000s of hours and solo clutching in havoc, the backseat “gamers” enjoying a malice match got nothing to offer that would bring “balance” to the game.

those that keep the lights on with dedication, passion and funds yeah.

i put in the hours, i get the occasional premium skin and i’d buy 50€ a “substantial” dlc, whenever whereever.

casuals usually never play a game past 100 hours no matter what you offer them.

and it shouldnt, but not playing past a certain threshold consistently isnt “experience”, after whereever they call it “good enough” its an opinion.

everyone’s entitled to his opinion, not everyone’s opinion matters, including mine on a :poop: ton of subjects
